Clean, modern, adequate, and good value. Just what North Americans expect from a Holiday Inn. Used as a stop-over with a car before an early morning boarding of Eurostar. (Note that I did not investigate public transport from here to Ebbsfleet Station, so YMMV. ) Nothing to complain about. While I do appreciate an occasional "full English" cooked breakfast; the Continental breakfast here was fresh, plentiful, and perfectly adequate.Luckily we got the "bridge" side (not noisy at all) and the view of the "tail-backs" on a Monday morning was amazing.

My family and I recently stayed for two nights at the above hotel (23rd & 24th August) I am Gluten intolerant and on checking in on the night of the 23rd I spoke with Vicky who was the Duty Manager. I explained that there was nothing other than fruit and yoghurt on the breakfast bar that I could eat and wondered if the hotel could provide at least some Gluten free bread for toast. Eating anything else on the bar would have made me seriously ill. Vicky told me that if I had given advanced notice the hotel could have obtained suitable food for me but as it was too short notice there was very little they kitchen could do to help. She then suggested that she brought some eggs in the following morning and the kitchen staff could make me some scrambled eggs. She went on to say that she would try to get hold of some bread for the second morning. Next morning the scrambled eggs duly arrived, provided by Vicky of course. On the morning of the 25th I went to the reception to ask if Vicky had arrived and brought some bread but I was informed by Jazz that Vicky was not in on that day and it may be that she forgot to pass on the message. On explaining my predicament, one of the kitchen ladies suggested some cold ham which and I accepted but then Jazz offered to ?nip? out and purchase some bread for a local ASDA store. I was delighted and took her up on the offer. A little under three quarters of an hour later Jazz arrived back apologetically telling me that it was a bit of a drive as ASDA was 15 minutes away which was not exactly across the road as she originally suggested. She showed me she had bought not only bread but some eggs as well. A few minutes later the same kitchen lady walked up to me and proudly presented me with a large plate with three scrambled eggs, three large slices of ham and some toast. As you can imagine I was overwhelmed that they should have gone to such efforts. I tucked in and thoroughly enjoyed my feast that morning. I have to say that I have never in all my travels about the country ( I travel for my work regularly) had the pleasure of such enthusiastic, caring and personal service as offered by the people of this hotel in Dartford. For Vicky to bring in eggs from her own kitchen was most generous and quit extraordinary. For Jazz to go out of her way, use her own fuel to buy food for me demonstrates a rarely found quality nowadays, Kindness. I wish I had asked the name of the lady or ladies who made the scrambled eggs the first morning and the full breakfast the next as I feel they deserve personal mention but I am unable to. wonderful people !!

We arrived at the hotel and check-in staff were pleasant and efficient. Our room was as expected, nice enough nothing fancy, nice bathroom with lovely walk in shower. Our main gripe was we came down to the bar and no one was there. We wait 10minutes and still no sign of staff. We walked around to reception, got the attention of a member of staff who was in the backroom yet he waved us away. A few more attempts of this and we got really angry by this point. After 20 minutes and losing patience he finally came out and said sorry (unsincerely). We pointed out we had been waiting 20minutes and had waved his attention several times only to be waved away. We pointed out that was rude, he claimed it was not and that it was shift change. We said we shouldnt have to wait 20minutes to get a drink. All said and done, apart from that incident everything was ok. We were only there for the night and arrived late, left early so we did not eat. It was appropriate for our needs!

I used this purely as a stop over to break up a long journey next day to Newquay with family for a long weekend. Good location, clean & tidy
