| Rated 3.5 out of 5: Rooms reasonably comfortable, spacious. Not much choice of TV channels. The breakfast was well presented, plenty of choice for the Continental selection, but very limited cooked choice. Hotel is very close to Limehouse station, and subsequently for the City. Rated 5 out of 5: Perfect for us for one night. We were here for a gig around the corner and it was superb for that. Good value at the discount rate. However, I if I was I London for a while I would probably aim for somewhere more central. This is fine its just 10 mins walk from the DLR but a bit of a ride into the centre from there. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Room was really clean but breakfast was usual continental but hot food consisted of Dried up sausages and even drier powered scrambled eggs!! Would I stay again? Yes but for breakfast. Rated 4.5 out of 5: Not in central London for tourists but good if you want the City/Canary Wharf. Not in picturesque area - on a very busy road next to a cement works! But new build, rooms fine, easy parking, excellent helpful staff and restaurants a short walk away. Close for transport links into centre of town. Rooms at the back do not get traffic noise, they were most helpful with this. Rated 4.5 out of 5: An enjoyable stay in London. Ahmed on reception highly professional, polite and helpful. Hotel was very clean and modern, my only small gripe would be the cleanliness of the carpet in room 112, it was quite soiled. But the rest of the room was excellent, the bed was superbly comfortable. I would like to express my compliments on the breakfast service. It was among the best and most complete i have experienced in a hotel stay. Very generous, hot, and delicious. A guest who stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Limehouse gave the hotel 4 out of 5: I got this hotel through bidding on Priceline, so I can't complain about the value, but when I first got the Priceline confirmation wasn't entirely happy with the location, as I had driven past that area many times. Once I was there I was more than pleased with the hotel, and the location is really not too bad. It's true that the part of Commercial Road by Limehouse Station is on the scruffy side, but I certainly wouldn't consider it unsafe and there is much regeneration going on. The hotel staff were helpful, the room a good standard and the complimentary breakfast was adequate. Before staying there I might have said that it was not a place for first time tourists, given its location, but transports links to the City and West End really aren't too bad. The Docklands Light Railway gets you to Bank in minutes (though there there is a bit of a walk between the DLR and other platforms), or if you prefer, the 15 and other bus routes (the 15 is an especially frequent service) get you to the City and West End. The N15 night bus also goes from Trafalgar Square to Commercial Road and beyond, so even night owls would have no difficulty getting back to the hotel without having to take a taxi. Just as long as you remember this area is not Knightsbridge there's no reason why it shouldn't be a base for both business and leisure travellers who apprciate a bargain. Rated 4.3 out of 5: Clean, modern, spacious, quiet, and more homely with the sofa included in the room. Reception is on the first floor, so perhaps a little more signage. A few complimentary's in the en-suites, i.e. toothbrush & paste, razor, shoe polisher. At a cost of ?1 in total, it would be a professional touch to match the rest of the room. Overall: Driving in London is nice and easy, so perhaps more detailed instructions on how to find the Hotel. Rated 4 out of 5: We chose this hotel because it was near our daughter's home and the rail fare with hotel price was extremely good value. Zorro - Excellent show. Lively amusing and had a really good feel good factor. Rated 4 out of 5: About 5 minutes walk from Limehouse station. Room was fine, clean and as expected from this chain. Not too many places to eat advertised, but nearby (10 minutes walk) is an excellent pub and fish restaurant called the Grapes on Narrow St - does a great evening bar meal. Also Gordon Ramsey has a restaurant, The Narrow? - didn't try that though. Italian and Indian restaurants also on Narrow St. I needed the location to get to Canary Wharf quickly. Good 3G signal if you don't want to pay for hotel Wi-Fi. Continental breakfast was ok. Fast check-in/check-out. |

| Rating out of 10: 8 Date stayed: September 2006 review: Holiday Inn Express Limehouse London is a very nice budget hotel. Excellent value for money. Clean, spacious, fresh air-conditioned rooms. Comfortable beds. Continental breakfast good. Only little downside was some of the Reception staff - not particularly friendly or warm. Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: April 2005 review: This Hotel included great staff service, clean and tidy rooms, and was especially good for Marathon preparation as its located in a great area for Marathon runners and supporters, so would recommend staying here for the Marathon and on general visits to London, amazing value for money.
