| Rated 4 out of 5: Standard new breed HI Express. Exceptionally helpful staff. Room 511 was close to the lift on the side towards the road but noticed no noise from either. Very close to Watford Junction Station but unless you're running I'd be surprised at the 2 minutes referred to in the previous review -- more like 5 to 8 with luggage. If coming out of the Station, turn right and go down the drive towards the underpass towards the Station car park. Cross the drive at the bottom and up the footpath along the edge of the tracks towards the hotel. Take care on the footpath as there are a few pavers a little out of level. Bed a little too bouncy for us, and the TV menu is overblown, but the coloured lights in the lobby are a nice touch as is the whole lobby decor. By European HIEX standards (especially Swiss and German), the breakfast is a bit on the light side. Pretty simple in fact. All in all a nice predictable experience. Rated 4.3 out of 5: Very clean hotel, efficient staff. Room nice size with good facilities. Good choice for breakfast. Overall: We booked in to the hotel as we were going to a concert at Wembley Stadium and would highly recommend it to anyone else doing the same thing and not wanting to drive right into London. Watford Junction Station is almost next door to hotel, trains to Wembley Central are very regular and inexpensive. It's then a 15-ish minute walk to the Stadium. The Hotel does not have its' own car park, however, guests can use the pub car park to the rear, free overnight parking 5pm - 9am, then only ?3.00 9am - 5pm (as at July 2009). Overall, very good value for London hotel and we would definitely stay there again. Rated 4 out of 5: Had a great stay at stay at the Holiday Inn Express. It was a lovely, well decorated and very clean hotel in an excellent position near to the Watford junction train station. Making easy access to London city centre. The room was lovely, well decorated, spacious and very clean. The breakfast was a standard continental - with various cereals, yogurts fruits and toast!! Nothing special but nothing wrong with it. Still very nice to have breakfast included for the price! A hotel guest awarded the hotel 5 out of 5 and explained. From the moment we arrived at this hotel, we felt welcomed as guests. The staff were very pleasant, and as for the room, it was immaculate. Great view over Watford and London, overlooked the railway station, so thought it was going to be noisy, but you could not hear anything with the windows closed. Greatly recomended, and keep up the great customer service. |
