I booked this hotel mainly because of its location, being so close to The Albert Hall. However after reading some of the reviews I was a little apprehensive to say the least. I had no need to worry at all and think some of the negative reviews are way too harsh.
The hotel is as it says on the website a small boutique hotel in an absolutely perfect location. You are in walking distance of some great sites. We were given room 10 on the 1st floor which was a decent size and very nicely decorated. I personally thought the hotel had a lovely feel about it. The bar/ breakfast room was intimate and the continental breakfast was again very nice.
A special thanks to Akram who was on the desk when we checked in, he really could not have been more helpful and made our stay there a memorable one. We would certainly return and I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Interesting combination this one. Can't help but feel that I lower my standards in London - it's like that becomes a mantra for excusing mediocrity.
Front of house was helpful but not particularly welcoming - I really felt I'd intruded. However, he was helpful in moving me from a cold room to a bigger cold room.
First room was a standard double - some evidence of "boutification" but not exactly extensive. Bathroom was pretty old, and the only chair / stool was made of a colour of leather popular in the 70's. Overall the room was pretty small, but reasonably clean.
However the radiator didn't work. Desk guy helped by moving me to the lower ground floor (cellar I guess) - to a "junior suite". Bigger, radiators still not working and same average bathroom and trippy 70's furniture. Much bigger as well. Almost big enough to justify the large skylight directly over the bed with only a wonkey bamboo blind to keep out daylight. Thank god it's deepest winter - you'd be up with the dawn chorus in summer.
One robe supplied. "fluffy towels" mentioned on the web site were white towels. Not exactly luxry. Standard dismal Gilchrist and Somes bath stuff for the standard bath.
So - I've stayed in worse hotels, and I've stayed in far better in London. I think it's the use of the word "boutique" in the hotel name that should be both a warning and an expectation setter. If you're expecting top notch goose-down bedding, Villroy and Bosch ceramics, and designer toiletries that the term usually conjours up, then this will be a disapointment. I guess they have to tell you it's a boutique hotel, because there's no way you'd know otherwise.

In a good situation for visting our son at Imperial College, a very nice area, good access to Kensington gardens and not far from S Kensington / Gloucester Rd Tube. A really pleasant room in a small smart hotel, nice breakfast. Not cheap but probably fair.

My son and I traveled to London in October 2009. We booked this hotel blindly, and I was a little concerned, not beibg familiar with the hotels in this area. (Chelsea). I was pleased to find this quaint , but very modern boutique hotel on Queensgate. Very nice room;clean and excellent service. Breakfast and bar available on the premises. Walking distance to museums, Kensington Palace and Gloucester Rd. tube stop. Personel at the hotel were very friendly and helpful..and available 24 hours. I would definitely choose this hotel again, when in London.

Recently, my partner and I stayed in this small but lovely, comfortable Boutique Hotel. The location was very convenient. Hampstead Hill is a beautiful , relaxing place after the crowds in the West End. The rooms were a bit small but being en-suite and quiet was a big plus. The breakfasts were great and the meals in the restaurant at night were very good. The management were extremely helpful and the staff were uniformly good.We run a B&B in Sydney, Australia and so are a little critical when it comes to staying in others but this on lives up to all expectations. Would heartily recommend.

Good sized room with large comfortable bed. Adequate clothes storage. Good TV. No tea/coffee making facility. Beneath bar/dining area with noise from this through ceiling. Overall: Staff were polite, friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.

We went on our trip specifically to go to the Tutankhamun exhibition. It was easy to get to by tube. It takes a good few minutes to walk to the exhibition as the O2 is quite big but lots of restaurants and coffeshops to sit and eat afterwards too. I recommend the audio tour as it does help in orientating you around the exhibiton and absorbing the information. It doesn't take ages to get through the exhibition and you can get through it at a comfortable pace and still read everything. The shop at the end has lots of enticing things so come prepared! We also took in a show while we were there. It was Wicked the Musical at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. It's located directly opposite the entrance of Victoria station and it was excellant. My daughter was blown away by it. We bought the cd and are still playing it. We also went on the London Eye which we enjoyed. It is a good idea to prebook these tickets to avoid the queques at the ticket office. We had a time slot for 4pm but were recommended to go a bit earlier as it could be more crowded then. So we were let on around 3.30. Wasn't keen that you had to hop on to your capsule and hop off it as it kept moving. All in all a very enjoyable trip to London. We will be back!
