| Rated 4 out of 5: The Receptionist, Claire, was absolutely excellent and arranged for a double room to be changed for a twin as requested prior to our stay. She was extremely friendly and professional. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the morning breakfast very good and plentiful. The hotel is quite tired and could do with some refurbishment. The public rooms are better maintained than the bedrooms. Our room had numerous holes in the wall and it was difficult to open the window. Rated 3.5 out 5: I expected the worst having read previous reviews but was actually quite presently surprised. The staff were really friendly and the room, although dated, was large, very clean and nice and cool. The mattress was a little hard but not too hard. Would definitely stay there again for the Late Rooms rate that I paid but I would not want to pay much more than that. Rated 4 out of 5: We wanted a cheap and cheerful stay as we were going out for dinner and then around town and that is exactly what we got. We had already read the other reviews and weren't expecting much from the rooms. But we got a lovely welcome from the receptionist when we arrived which was a very nice start and when we went up to our room she had upgraded us to a large airy room with a massive Jacuzzi bath. (Subject to availability) Breakfast the next morning was excellent, better than some posher higher starred hotels. Admittedly the bedrooms could probably do with being updated but overall we had a very pleasant stay, friendly staff, clean room and great breakfast. |

| Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: July 2005 review: Stayed here with my family for a couple of days and had a fantastic stay! Hotel staff were all really kind and helpful, food delicious, and the jacuzzi bath in our room went down a treat! Only 5 min walk to train station into London - great for kids! |
