| Rated 4 out of 5: We stayed here for a birthday weekend in London and were not disappointed. We booked directly via the hotel's website and saved some money by paying in advance (this, in fact, saved time at checkout). The standard room was a good size although the bathroom was a little small. The only downside was that the fixtures and fittings were starting to look tatty and worn in the bedroom and bathroom, so refurbishment should be due soon. Other than that, the room was well equipped, with a trouser-press, ironing board, full tea/coffee-making facilities and a small 'lounge' area. Staff members throughout the stay were courteous and friendly and, frankly, stood out from the vast majority of hotels I've stayed in this year. They really are an asset to the hotel. Continental breakfast was included in the room price but we could have upgraded to full English for ?8 p.p., although we decided not to. I felt that the choice was a little restricted although the quality was good. Overall, I will return (as long as the prices don't get much higher). Rated 5 out of 5: We booked a superior double room, well it was more like a luxury suite. For a start the bathroom had three sinks, bath and shower and seperate shower cubicle with power shower all nicely presented and very clean, the room itself had a double bed two sofas two tables and chair and was big enough to hold a party in. The hotel is located just up the street from Tower Hill tube station, which is great to connect to all parts of London. Would def recommend and will be visiting again soon. Rated 4.4 out of 5: Liked: Clean hotel, good facilities, nice rooms, good shower, upgraded for free upon arrival. Disliked: Check in felt a little like they were still trying to "sell" something to you despite you already having booked the hotel. Overall: Nice hotel in an excellent location for the Embankment/Tower Of London area of the capital. Good sized rooms. Upgraded to an executive room free of charge. Rated 5 out of 5: The Grange is located approx 100 yards from Temple Hill Tube Station and has wonderful views across the Thames. If you book a room in the old wing you will find most rooms have commanding views of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Hotel staff were very attentive and genuine with it, the food was also excellent. We opted for the set menu [two courses for ?21] due to limited time before we popped off to see Les Miserables and we were not dissapointed. You should try the Ckicken Pate for starters, very smooth! 10 out of 10 for this Hotel and which will now be our London base whenever we return! |
