Rated 4 out of 5:
Some of these reviews seem pretty harsh - some people clearly have higher expectations than most. However, this may be due to the room we were allocated. If you get one on the front you are definitely going to get a bit of noise from the road (although it isn't a hugely busy road especially with roadworks at on end). On the other hand, our room faced out the back and it was very quiet. The room itself was excellent - huge bathroom with great shower, the COMFIEST bed i've ever slept in, TV with sky sports and plenty of space. The breakfast on Friday was excellent but they dont do a typical English breakfast at weekends so we had to settle for cold meats, cereal and toast on the Saturday and Sunday.
One huge selling factor is its location - possibly the best in London?! 1 minute walk from Great Portland Street station, 10 mins to Oxford Street and 10 minutes to Leicester Square.
The staff are rather meek and not particularly assertive but if you ask for anything they are more than pleased to help.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Dont let the negative reviews put you off.

Rated 4.5 out of 5:
Apart from the fact that the room was small - not really a problem as I was alone - the room was of good quality. The staff were charming, greeting me whenever they passed by and helpful. One minor issue in that the kettle was temperamental. I mentioned it to the receptionist who said someone would look at it whilst I was out but the kettle had not been changed by the time I returned. I had a glass of wine that was only ?3.95, a bargain in London! Plenty of tea, coffee, milk etc, again unusual. At the laterooms rate it was good value for money, much better than the hotel where my colleagues stayed and paid substantially more.

I wanted a pleasant location within walking distance of nice shops and cafes and to be within a cheap taxi ride to the West End theatres - I could not have chosen better. I got a good deal through show and stay website - so had a fab time at les mis plus a lovely room (?40 to updgrade to executive standard). Nice quiet room, attentive staff, taxis booked within minutes to anywhere. Great Portland Street underground a few minutes up the road with Regents Park right beside. 5 minute walk to Harley Street (lovely buildings and nice atmosphere) and 10 minutes to Marylebone high street, where there is a Conran shop plus other lovely boutiques. It is 10 minutes walk to Oxford Street, a little further to Regents Street and maybe 25 mins max walk to the start of the theatres. I travel loads with work and was pleased that the hotel was better than I had imagined from some of the comments I had read. I certainly would recommend an executive room in this hotel if you have already done all the major sights in London and want to focus more on being close to the West End and pottering...

Rated 3.4 out of 5:
LIked: Hotel was clean and staff were good.
Disliked: Room was very hot - window was wide open when i arrived so i'm guessing this is a common problem, it remained open throughout my stay but with it being warm outside the room was very stuffy making sleep very difficult - Room desperately needs aircon
Overall: Would stay again - but not in the summer!
