| Rated 4 out of 5 : Stayed here for 3 nights in August 2010. Very friendly staff and the service is excellent. The room was very clean with comfortable beds. There was also a stereo-system with Ipod-docking in the room. The bathroom was fairly big and had a bathtub. Keep in mind that everything you remove from the mini-bar will be billed to your room. Ok breakfast, we had continental brakfast incliuded, english breakfast was available but costs extra. The lobbybar is open 24h. Wifi costs extra. Rated 4 out of 5 : We stayed 2 nights at the Grange Holborn, booked as a secret hotel through Lastminute.com. My sister and her little 2-yr old daughter stayed with us for one night too. Good points: Staff were quick to help with luggage Lounge staff were very attentive without being intrusive Room service food was good and although expensive, not horrendously so Hotel was spotless throughout Lovely pool and sauna Despite being situated on the corner of two busy roads, there were no noise problems Executive rooms were fairly spacious for a central hotel Best point is its location - taxi-ing distance from Euston and St Pancras Stations, easy walking distance to Covent Garden, lots of nice restaurants and cafes on Kingsway Bad points: Long queue at reception when we arrived on a Friday about 3pm Lots of hen parties - but they were very civilised! We asked for two adjoining rooms which the receptionist agreed to - but we didn't get them. As the rooms were a few days apart, we stuck with it The receptionist noted that we'd requested a travel cot for my sister's booking - she confirmed the request but advised we'd have to wait for the room. We got to the room - no travel cot. Three phone calls and ONE hour later - housekeeping finally turned up. We had some kind of electrical fault with the hairdryer which was causing it to melt part of the casng - called housekeeping - they turned up with an ironing board - ?? The last two points were due to language difficulties - as all of the staff we encountered did not speak English as their first language. For the most part, this wasn't a problem - but whenever we requested something out ofthe norm e.g. travel cot, frazzled hairdryer - that's when difficulties arose! They were always resolved courteously - just a little longer than usual! To sum up; lovely clean hotel, perfect location, nice pool, helpful staff but with some language difficulties. The deal we got with lastminute.com made it excellent value for money - if we got the same deal, we would definitely stay there again Rated 5 out of 5 : Stayed at ths hotel for one night and I must say it was brilliant, hotel looked nice and clean from the outside, staff were very polite and check-in was very quick. We had a family room and it was very clean. We went to the pool which my 10 year old enjoyed, my partner and I both enjoyed the steam room and sauna which were all free to use. This hotel is centrally located for all of London's main sights, mostly near the shows which was the reason for our visit, we are only 5 mins away. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody and I will be going back there one day. Rated 3.4 out of 5 : Liked: Good location Disliked: Small rooms with tiny bathrooms - adequate for a single traveler on business with no luggage but NOT a Five star hotel and nothing like the pictures on the website. Overall : Over priced 4 star trading as a 5 star Rated 4.5 out of 5 : We spent two nights in this hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful with luggage at arrival and departure. The location is excellent with easy access to the underground or simply walking to the theater district. The room was comfortable and clean. The quality of the mattress was much appreciated. That being said the room was smaller and less luxurious than expected for a 4 star hotel. |
