| Rated 5 out of 5: Stayed at the hotel for 1 night, got an upgrade to a superior room, the bed was big enough for 4 people and the room was clean and had everything you'd need for a stay of any length of time! Great central location, nice and close for everything! Might cost you a bit more, but if you're not on a budget and can afford to stay here it is highly recommended! Rated 5 out of 5: Stunning hotel in amazing location. We were given the most amazing room upgrade which included separate bedroom, sitting room, hallway and bathroom. Totally spoilt. A guest to the Grosvenor House JW Marriott Hotel rated the stay as 5 out of 5: When we arrived at the hotel the reception was polite and very well organised, though it was rather busy. The hotel upgraded our room free of charge to an exclusive king size, which upon entering was an amazing sight. Cannot fault the cleanliness, service and experience of staying in one of london's premier hotels. Rated 4 out of 5: We stayed for one night recently using a Marriott Rewards rate - which made it great value for us! Hotel location is superb - Park Lane mid way between Hyde Park Corner and Marble Arch tube stations. It's easy to walk to the key points of interest in the vicinity and public transport is within easy reach in almost all directions. Check-in took rather too long. A sudden rush - if you could call five or six people in the queue a rush - meant we waited a good ten to fifteen minutes to get our room key. The frustration was soothed, however, by the excellent manner of the lady checking us in. The room was comfortable if not spectacular, although the air con was a pain - a touch too hot, and certainly too noisy overnight. The highlight was the excellent bathroom with a superb monsoon shower that worked first time, every time. Sadly, the king-sized bed was actually two singles pushed up against each other! I knew that was a risk when I booked, but it was still a tad disappointing. We made use of the bar before heading out that evening for dinner, and service was good, but again, nothing too special - expensive too, although you should expect that in this part of London. Oh, and it is still a Marriott of one flavour or another. There's no getting away from that, although the JW touch does take the edge of the usual Marriott formula. All-in-all, a very nice hotel, but not up to the standards of the very best by any stretch of the imagination. Rated 4 out of 5: Hotel very clean staff response excellent incidentals overly expensive ambience convivial adjoining room occupants excessively noisy and very audible through adjoining suite door Rated 2 out of 5: Liked: CLEANLINESS Disliked: DVD EQUIPMENT IN ROOM INNOPERABLE ASKED TO BE RECTIFIED STAFF COULD NOT REPAIR. Overall: ADEQUATE ALTHOUGH NOT FANTASTIC. NOT VALUE FOR MONEY |
