Just returned from a weekend at the Brittania. We had a room on the 5th floor where their superior rooms are. Great view, very comfy bed. Room clean and roomy. A little dated but no complaints. Staff were extremely helpful, quietly efficient and really friendly. Breakfast was absolutely fine except for the coffee and tea. This was the only thing that lets this hotel down badly. Given they have staff on duty waiting in the dining room, it would be a big improvement if they served tea and coffee at the table rather than provide luke warm water in thermos flasks with nes and tea bags. You have to have good coffee to satisfy people.

Would estimate the hotel was built back in the 1970's and don't think much has changed. This also includes the rooms and bathroom, which are in need of an upgrade.
We were, initially, met by a very miserable receptionist, however on subsequent visits other staff members were very pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast was reasonable(buffet) with plenty of food aavailable.
Not the best location, if travelling by train via Paddington, as the nearest tube on the Northern line is not the quickest to get to.
Booked the hotel last minute, however would have preferred to have paid more and stayed in a more convenient location.

Liked: Great size room, ok roomservice, cleaning (new towels every day) etc.
Disliked: Very old style room, very expensive
Overall: It was fine for what we needed it for, and we overall enjoyed our stay.

This was the first time I had taken my children to London to see a show. We stayed for three nights, travelled by train and included show tickets for our break, hotel rooms very dated and curtains hanging down, but very clean bed sheets and plenty of very clean large towels. As we only used the room for showering and sleeping it was ok couldn't complain for the package price we paid. Would definately book with them again and have already recommended them to several others who are thinking of going to London purchase a rover ticket on the tube daily if you are staying under a week. Kids are only ?2 each, adults ?5.60 to cover zone 1 and 2.

We stay here fairly regularly as we visit our daughter who lives very near. The hotel is not luxurious and in fact the regular price is not cheap but we use it when we get a good deal. Our stay this time was on January 2nd and we were disturbed at 3.00 am by drunken shouting and laughter - otherwise a reasonable night.
