| Rated 3 out of 5 : We booked this hotel because it was cheap and close to Windsor where we wanted to go the next morning. Me and my boyfriend had a double room with shared bathroom. When we came to the hotel and got our room, we were shocked for the first moment. Firstly - although the weather was very hot that weekend, the heating in our room was on, and it turned out that the window cannot open. And secondly - it is so close to the airport that the planes seem to fly just few meters over your head (and, especially, our ears). We could not imagine how we will sleep in that hot and noisy place. However, the room was eventually easy to air out through the door, and by the midnight when we finished our ciders the planes have stopped flying (or moved to other direction?) and the place was quiet for the rest of the night. So it turned surprisingly good. The place was not beautiful and the rooms were not ideally clean, but the price was quite good for the area so I give "average". Rated 3 out of 5 : I have been working in the local area for nearly three years and have spent hundreds of nights in the hotels etc around heathrow. The heathrow lodge is the cheapest place i have stayed in apart the awful easyhotel down the road. The heathrow lodge is in a great location, near T5 etc and easy for M4 and M25. The village is lovely, with two fantastic pubs within 20 yards for food and drinks. The planes can be a bit noisy outside, but i dont notice them and havent had an issue with noise in the rooms. The please is very basic, but i have always found it to be clean and comfy, the beds are pretty good normally. I have had issues with lighting not working in a room, and some of the doors dont seem massively secure, but ive never had a problem, although they could do with bedside lamps. I dont have the en-suite rooms as the shared facilities are perfectly adequate. The rooms in the various houses around the village are a bit odd, but you get used to that. All in all, it is good value for money, dont expect too much and dont set high expectations, if you want somewhere cheap to stay for a few hours it is fine. Rated 4 out of 5 : Liked: Clean and comfortable.TV and internet worked well. Disliked: Nearly two hour wait for shuttle from airport to hotel-not impressed. Overall: Convenient location Rated 3.5 out of 5 : we stayed at the last minute (booked at 8pm for same night) as i mucked up another booking! reception was friendly. bit worried when on way to room saw a 'bathroom' sign on one door as thought would have to share but luckily room had tv, tea/coffee facilities and ensuite bathroom. beds were very firm (which I like). room was heated at right temperature. place to store clothes (not used). some buttons on tv were broken and is analogue so pretty rubbish, bbc1 was number 9, no remote control found. bathroom was colder than room, toiletries provided, did not use shower. for the money not bad including free shuttle to airport. personally would not stay again unless no car or other hotels too expensive/fully booked. don't think they offered extended parking (we needed 4 nights), so good for a 1 night stop over. pub opposite for bar/food. hotel has done well with the type/style of old building but could do with some diy. |
