| Rated 4 out of 5 : Very convenient location.....liked the modern/contemporary style of hotel... Was quite expensive and i think the rooms need updating a bit. Rated 5 out of 5 : The Hempel is wonderful. From the moment one walks through the doors there is a sense of style and elegance that is palpable throughout. Immediately on arrival, even though it was my first stay at the hotel, I was greeted with such warmth by all the staff that I felt like I had been many times before. The Hempel's team have a relaxed but professional way about them, nothing is too much, and conversation flows with ease My bedroom had a stunning view over the private gardens and was full of quirky design features and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Breakfast in bed is a rare treat and the menu certainly tickles the senses. I didn't have the chance to dine in the hotel's restaurant but I am saving that for next time. The Hempel is a great find, ideally located on a beautiful quiet street, and I cannot wait to return! Rated 3.5 out of 5 : We have stayed in the Hempel before a few years ago and were very impressed with the rooms, general ambience and staff. This stay was disappointing the hotel is rather tired and could do with updating. Our room was very nice but the shower in our bathroom did not function properly and even after informing the reception, who advised us that they had resolved the problem, it wasn't repaired. Rated 5 out of 5 : The Hempel hotel a little oasis. Staff extremely kind and excellent at their job. Hotel under going refurbishment, but didn't matter. Notting Hill carnival on that weekend but no disturbance. The break was for my husband's birthday and the hotel presented him with a yummy chocolate cake!!! Having been rather ill in the run up to our break myself it was a lovely way to have some real relaxation even in London. Rated 4 out of 5: The Hempel is a nice place to get some peace and quiet after a noisy day in hectic London. The lobby is beautifully zen and truly relaxing. This unfortunately is not completely translated into the rooms : they are outdated and need some pimping, giving the hotel a 4, not 5star vibe. Ideal hotel if you're looking for a place to have a nice and quiet rest in the evening and a reviving jog in the morning (beautiful Hyde Park nearby), but are out for the rest of the day...Not a place where you'd like to linger all day. |
