| Rated 4.2 out of 5: When I went to check in, they advised my room wasn't available so they would have to put me in a suite for the first night. I will admit, I actually liked my smaller room much better, glad I didn't book a suite. Rated 4.5 out of 5: The Hesperia hotel is next to Victoria Station, so is very handy for the tube and within easy walking distance if you have luggage. The show we came to see (wicked) was at the Apollo Victoria, which is also next to the station. The papal visit coincided with our visit, but didn't disrupt us, though the open top bus tour had to make a diversion, and to compensate for any delays the standard ticket was valid for 2 days instead of 1. The hotel is within about 20 mins walking distance of Buckingham Palace, which was the main attraction for us on this trip. Rated 3.5 out of 5: The Hesperia is in a great location, just come out of the side of Victoria Station and it is facing you. We had a good stay in a quiet room at the back of the hotel on the first floor. The room was well furnished and the bed very comfortable although initially they tried to offer us a twin room even though we had booked a double. In the room we had a mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was looking a bit tired and could have done with some new tiling although everything looked clean. We ordered room service as we arrived back late, it arrived within half an hour and was excellent if not expensive! ?45 for two Caesar salads, two garlic breads and two lemonades! All in all a good hotel! Rated 4 out of 5: My friend and I spent the night in this hotel recently and found it to be as clean, convenient and friendly as the first time we stayed a few years ago. It is situated beside Victoria station which suited us as we arrived on the Gatwick Express. The room faced the station and although I heard the bin men briefly quite early I didn't find it annoying or disruptive to my sleep pattern. The staff were friendly in all areas of the hotel. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We would definitely stay here again when we return to London. |

| Rating out of 10: 7 Date stayed: March 2005 review: i went to London with my 13-year old. we booked 6 days. the room had 2 twin beds. the room seemed small, but I'm from CA. it was on a side street--not exactly downtown. regardless, we had a great time: it is across from Victoria station--we could catch a taxi, underground, or train. it is within walking distance to Buckingham palace. the breakfast buffet was good--very similar to a US breakfast buffet. the owning company is a Spanish hotel chain--the staff speaks Spanish, French, English: very multilingual and multicultural. no complaints here... |
