| Rated 4 out of 5 by a Holiday Inn Express Newbury Park guest: Stayed here for a seminar with colleagues. No complaints. Hotel was full with groups but it did not disturb me (although a colleague on another floor said he was slightly disturvbed by one of the grpups. All was very clean and efficient. The bathrooms have a superbly clever dual function door that either shuts off the bathroom from the rest of the room or shuts off the toilet within the bathroom area. Internet via TV was useful for catching up on my web based e-mails without having to cart a laptop around just for a short stay. Most efficient hotel room air con I've had for some time... BP garage (M&S) next door helpful for buying a newspaper or snack food of some kind. B&Q and JD Sports adjacent if you need them! Personally, when in a hotel, I like to be not to far from 'life' so liked the fact that the main road was so close. Rated 5 out of 5 : We knew when we booked this hotel that is was far away from the city center (20-30 min tube ride) and all of the main tourist attractions, which is what we were there to see. However, it was a great hotel. Very clean. We got there too early to check in but they were very friendly and let us store our bags. The Newbury Park tube station is not very far away. There are some fast food places nearby, and a Sainsburys, although we did not go there. If I were going to see the tourist places again, I probably would try to find a closer hotel. However, the hotel itself is great! Good breakfast, nice people working there. Spacious and nice rooms. It was convenient to have a hairdryer in the room. Rated 4.7 out of 5 : Nice size bright modern room. Well equioed room, nice desk to work at. Free parking. Good choice of breakfast. Overall: Good. Hotel was netter than I thought it would be. Rated 5 out of 5 : the hotel was what we expected from a Holiday Inn Express; comfortable, clean and conveniently located for public transport. The only downside was that we stayed on the Saturday night of the monthly disco held in the basement of the building and it was 2.am before we were able to get to sleep. even at 4 floors up the noise was unpleasant. So avoid the last saturday in the month unless you want to go to the disco. |
