| Rating out of 10: 2 Date stayed: July 2008 review: stay well away from this hole! my wife and i stay in a holiday inn express in essex a few weeks ago and could not believe that this place was part of the same chain! as soon as we got there they hit us with the hidden charges, telling us it would cost £7 per night to park the car in the car park! then as we went to our room the smell hit us, the whole place smelt like a old persons home, not very pleasent at all! in the mornig my wife was first in the shower and when i went to get in i found we only had 1 towell between us, making tea in the room was hampered by the fact we only were given 1 sachet of sugar each! when we went to breakfast we found a choice of 2 cereals, toast or fruit juice, the tea and coffee machines were out of order and and when i asked the staff if they could give us hot water to make drinks with i was laughed at and told 'no wait for the engineer'. my previous experience of holiday inn express breakfast has been a wide choice of fruit, fruit juice, yoghurt, cereal and toast! the joke is you have to pay a ?25 premium to stay close to london and dont even get a ?25 service! if i have to do this journey i will be getting a cab home as it is cheaper than putting my wife and i through this dump again! |
