| Rated 4 out of 5: The hotel was very easy to get to from both terminals of Gatwick Airport. The shuttle bus runs 24 hours a day every 15 minutes 0500-2300 and every 30 minutes through the night. ?3 each way takes around 10 minutes. The staff are very friendly. Check in was fine. We had booked well in advance online and got a double room for just over ?70 for the night. Very reasonable. The room was fine. Spotlessly clean, nice size, lovely bathroom and a large comfy clean bed. Tea and coffee making facilities. Although we were at the front of the hotel fronting on to the busy main road there was no noice at all and we both got a good nights sleep. We have stayed here before and would do so again without hesitation. The only downside was that although nice, the bar and restaurant are very expensive. This time we stayed we ate out. We crossed the road opposite and headed for the church spire in the distance and then followed the signs for Horley. Although nothing special this little town has a gem of a pub called the Gatwick Arms. There is a good selection of drinks very reasonabley priced and the food is fantastic. I had lasagne, chips and salad for only ?5.95 and my partner an 8oz sirlon on a sizzle plate thing with all the trimmings for ?8.95. Great portions and fantastic value, also nice quality, not cheap rubbish. Pudding portions we again huge at under ?3. The pub is a 15 minute walk from the hotel and is located at the far end of Horley main street (with the shops) near the railway line. Well worth the walk or a short taxi ride (you will save the fare in food price and get much more for your money) A good hotel for a relaxing night before your flight Rated 5 out of 5: We stayed here before flying out on our honeymoon and found the staff to be really friendly. We were upgraded to an Executive Room and the whole experience was really good. I would certainly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to stay at Gatwick. The proximity to the airport was ideal and the transfers were quick and easy. Great start to a fabulous break! Rated 4 out of 5: The hotel was fine with great transport links to Gatwick airport. The restaurant service in the evening was terrible though and the food was adequate. Rated 4 out of 5: clean and good service Disliked: had to pay for shuttle bus to airport while other hotels provide it for free Overall: good |

| Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: January 2006 review: Stayed here in October 2005...absolutely faultless. Friendly efficient check in. Clean modern bright room. Dinner good and friendly service you pay for the number of courses you eat and the buffet breakfast surprisingly good. Have recommended again and again and will always use this hotel. Hilton now out of my price range and this hotel was perfect for a one night stop before going down the motorway to shop in Brighton. Try it and see. |
