| A guest who stayed at the hotel gave it 4 out of 5 and wrote: I just got back from London yesterday....I am stil so amazed and excited about the whole experience of this lovely elegant city, and the nice British accent! My daughter and I have booked a prepaid package including hotel, plane and continental breakfast....we were quite satisfied.....we booked a non-smoking twin beds standard room, room 1503 on fifteen stage. Nice view, besides windows are very dirty. The room was small, but clean, and the tiny bathroom was immaculated and everything worked fine. So, I really can't understand the bad reviews about the rooms and this hotel. This is a big ugly building in a nice old architectural quarter of London, South Kensington....quiet and great, and especially well located, at one corner of a street of Gloucester Rd tube station, and close in walking distance of the Natural Science Museum and Albert & Victoria museum, which I strongly recommend to visit. Service was quick and pretty good, we never waited for anything, we were lucky enough to get the room ready right at the check-in (we were there at 9h30 am and got the room, instead of waiting at 2 o'clock. Every member of the staff was courteous and nice, especially concierges who were all very helping to get some infos for us about the tours, the transportation, restaurants, etc. If you get a chance to visit Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and the village of Bath, I recommend it strongly. Don't listen to the bad reviews, just don't expect luxury, but I think it's if you get a great deal, you shouldn't hesitate to book this hotel. |
