| A Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury guest gave the accommodation 4 out of
5: The hotel is quite a walk from the train station and there is no way I would have wanted to walk that at night with my children, but in day light was acceptable. The 2 restaurants inside were nice, we went to the a la carte one, adults main course was ?15 which was expensive but then the childrens 3 course meal was ?8 so cheap for the kids but no us. The breakfast was lovely, the rooms was generous and big - why do they only give you 3 cups when they know 4 people are staying the night? so had to order more tea supplies as usual. Our biggest dissapointment was the pool - we travelled all that way with a swimming costume in our bags and on arrival at 5.30 questioned where the pool was in front of the children what the receptionist failed to tell me that they don't let children into the pool after 6.30 and there were restrictions in the morning too, so of course, we turned up after unpacking etc at the pool reception with some unhappy kids - PLAIN OLD BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON RECEPTION.. Rated 4 out of 5: We stayed at the hotel as we got some cheap last minute train tickets for weekend in London and basically needed a room that wasn't overly priced. The hotel was everything we wanted, it was clean, quiet, comfortable and we had a good night sleep. Only downside was it was a good walk from the tube station. If your planning on using the tube it's nowhere near Kings Cross tube stop. If you don't want everything on the door step and don't mind a bit of a walk to the tube and you get the hotel at a discounted price then it's worth staying at. |

Rating out of 10: 4 Date stayed: April 2007 review: Hotel room was nice but it stops there. Everything else was a disapointment! Reception staff were rude, unhelpful and abbrupt. Upon checkout I was totally ignored by the member of staff no conversation, not even eye contact. I would not recommend this hotel to others. Rating out of 10: 7 Date stayed: February 2006 review: The hotel overall is superb, i have stayed in many hotels across the country and room wise for a family of four the room was to a very high standard. The full english breakfast we had was also to a very high standard and is definatley worth the extra money over the continental breakfast. The facilities of the hotel are very good with an excellent leisure centre with everything you require in it for a short break. The only reason i have not given this hotel a higher score is due to the long walk from the nearest tube station. The hotel is a good 15 minute walk away from the nearest tube station and as we arrived late on it is very intimadating as the area is not the nicest and some parts are run down. Other than this a great hotel to stay in with some of the best facilities out of all the central London hotels. |
