| Rated 3 out of 5 : I recently stayed at this hotel with my daughter, mum and auntie. I had booked it as a 'secret' hotel and was disappointed after reading the reviews. However, when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised, the reception was clean and tidy, the rooms were very small but the beds were comfortable, the bedding and towels clean and the shower was great with plenty of hot water. If you want a luxury stay in London then by no means choose this hotel as I would describe it as shabby, however if you want a hotel to be used as a base while spending a lot of time exploring London then go ahead and book it. It is ideal for the Central line on the Underground which makes exploring easier. The breakfast was ideal, tea and coffee was delivered to your table, the staff were friendly, some more than others, but then you get that wherever you stay. We enjoyed our stay at Henry VIII, not sure I'd stay again but definately was pleasantly surprised after reading the terrible reviews. Rated 3 out of 5 : Room adequate, clean, beds comfortable. Noise from lift horrendous, had to request room change which was dealt with calmly and pleasantly. Staff experience excellent. Unfortunately breakfast not very good, hot food cold, sausages inedible. Rated 3.5 out of 5 : Room was very small with trains at the back, but good to have a pool in central London at a sensible price which is why I would return. Hot breakfast was only bacon and scrambled eggs, both of which were cold. |
