Excellent hotel great customer service well worth the money This hotel was very good it seems out of the way but the free shuttle bus to Clapham Junction on request was great. The staff were very friendly and willing to help with any request we had. Our room was of a high standard and very clean. An all round good experience and I will definitely stay here next time I go to London. Well done to the Rafayel!

Hotel great, restaurant average Stayed here for work and could not fault the hotel, staff were helpful and friendly even at 4.35am when I was helped to the car park with my bags. Room was large and well furnished, bathroom and shower were great, bed was comfortable and bed linen of good quality. My only negative was the restaurant, it is expensive for what it is, luckily you get 50% discount for being a guest. I felt that the staff do not really what to be there and your food was hurried even though the place was empty. Although the food was ok I would have been very disappointed if I had to pay full price. Unless you want to get a cab or drive there is no other place close by to eat.

Liked: My wife and I stayed at this hotel for birthday break and we're very impressed by the excellent standards of customer service in all departments of this hotel. The hotel has a very relaxing and hassle free air about it and the food in the restaurant is of a very high standard while still remaining reasonably priced. We will definitely book this hotel again when we visit London again.

Disliked: I think the spa facilities are a bit small for a big hotel. When I was there the jacussi and steam/ sauna were full and there is no where to lounge while you wait.

Liked: The view of the Thames was good, and the access to such as Westfield shopping centre and Central London was excellent because of the hotel shuttle, which we used three times, to clapham junction station to catch the overground and tube. Staff were friendly and helpful. Discounted room prices were about right for being a bit out of London.
Disliked: Breakfast We had for one morning was abysmal, plates and cups were missing from the "laid" tables, we were not asked whether we wanted tea or coffee for at least ten minutes (9th April) after helping ourselves to toast and croissant from the buffet. One of the milk jugs was almost empty and there was no sign to indicate what milk was skimmed etc. The items on display for the cooked breakfast did not include any eggs, so we declined that. All in all the cover price for £9.95 each for the service and continental breakfast for a 5 star hotel was disappointing. Much better to go the short journey to Westfield and enjoy attentive service and a quality breakfast.

Liked: The view from our room was amazing plus the technology available in the room. The size of the bed and the quality of the bed linen.
Disliked: Had difficulty understanding the reception we were left to find the room on our own room 120 and was rescued by another member of staff. Lack of information about transport. Just returned from Rome where information for guests was brilliant.

Engagement weekend Nice hotel but missing the five star touch. Difficult to get a taxi, kettle in the room had something disgusting in it, toilet didn't work properly so by no means the first class experience you expect with a five star hotel.

Liked: Air conditioned rooms, organic body wash & lotions, free shuttle service to rail stations (pre booked) numerous lounge areas throughout, library facility. Staff that go that extra mile to ensure you enjoy your stay.
Disliked: On booking through the website no mention of requirement to pre book spa treatments.

Liked: We loved the size of the room and the way the bathroom was with the television in the bath. We also loved how you could play your music and it would come the ceiling. The hotel were also kind enough to leave us a card and chocolates with rose petals on the bed as it was our anniversary. Was lovely to be over looking the river too.
Disliked: Nothing we didn't like at all.

Liked: The room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom was spotless. Had a lovely view. Outside had a nice wharf view smoking area. Although quiet looked quiet safe. Very nice hotel and location will be returning.
Disliked: Was not told how to work electrics in room upon arrival as card had to placed in a slot by the door. Had to ring reception to ask. Minor dislike.

Liked: Wonderful hotel and excellent service, could not fault a thing! Recommend a massage and manicure - V. Relaxing! :)
Disliked: Little far out from central London but the hotel provide a free of charge shuttle service and have their own low cost taxi company so it was not too much of an issue.

Liked: The staff were very approachable and friendly.
Disliked: The spa closes too early (8pm). Maybe 10 pm. The steam room was out of order and I personally don't like saunas. So as a result of this I only used the Jacuzzi and swimming pool facilities. Despite this I would definitely visit again.

Liked: The outlook over the river was fantastic. I loved watching the helicopters and the river birds. I wished I had had the chance to visit the little boat harbour. The outlook form our room was wonderful. I appreciated the car-parking facility and that the staff parked and returned my car almost in an instance. We didn't have time to try the spa but we really loved the wonderful view from the huge windows from our room.
Disliked: The breakfast was really lacking in quality. If I have to be critical the location is a little far from central London. But I didn't get chance to explore the transport options because I was so busy with the business of my trip. Maybe you had a minibus option into town?

excellent hotel Wonderful stay. Off the beaten track but it suited us. Lovely riverside walks. Subdued lights made it difficult to see inside my suitcase so one bright light would have been good. Very impressive service. Staff attentive, polite and helpful.

Met all requirements. Good value for money for a 5 star. Met all the requirements, clean, comfortable fittings and fixtures, large room, large bathroom and nice touches; we like the library. The hotel and room met all the requirements but we felt it lacked a little something, a little character. We concluded that the word we were looking for was: functional. Staff were friendly and great view of the Thames. We were not tempted by the restaurant and went to eat in Battersea.

Superb value for London hotel Outstanding in all Areas. Fabulous value for money. I ate in the restaurant and nothing was too much trouble and with 50% off for residents this was good value. The shuttle service to and from Clapham common and Clapham junction also means that although this hotel is a little way out of the city centre it is very accessible. Will definitely stay again.

Disliked: As much as I loved the shuttle service it is a shame it ends at 10pm as we finished watching a show and had to find our own way to the hotel at night as Taxi was very expensive. Also one of the breakfast meals was missing at room service so one of us went hungry

Disliked: I loved everything about it except for one thing. Upon arrival I was told that I would not be able to check into my room if I did not provide a credit card for authorisation with a minimum of £d0 for the deposit. I had no problem with the payment it was just that I had olanned to only spend cash and left my cards at home. I informed the. Receptionist that I was willing to pay the deposit in cash and they refused telling me there was nothing they could do, also meaning that I would not be able to stay and I would lose my money. I asked to speak to the manager and he adviced me that if I wanted to pay in cash I would have to give a minimum of £200. That does not make any sense if the standard depositi is £50. Anyway I was forced to get my card and make the payment which prolonged my check-in and caused me more stress after a Long day at work.

Disliked: Spa was poor. It has been designed for treatments primarily. The restriction of 3 in a hot tub is crazy as it results in more than one couple not being able to share. In my case I sat with a couple who clearly felt uncomfortable with a solo male in there with them. The hydro pool was stuck on fast which mean a string swimmer like myself lasted 10minutes before exhaustion (and I swim a mile in 25m pools). The adjacent gym was blasting out rock music through fixed open double doors next to the spa which was playing mood music - even sat in their 'Zen' reception the intruding sounds killed any ambience they were trying to achieve. The Pool/ Jacuzzi/ Sauna and Steam room had no drinking water. Without signage I discovered you had to robe up walk into the gym and use the plastic tumblers to rehydrate (but could not take back into the wet area of the Spa. Not a quality Spa, much better in Central London e. G. Grange Hotels, for similar or less money.

Liked: The spa was lovely and the beds were very comfortable
Disliked: The room smelt like cannabis which was a very strong smell. At first we tried to ignore it as we went out for dinner but when we came back it was still there. There also was no drinking water other than the water in the mini bar that you had to pay for, I think every hotel should supply free water.

Great but a way out of town. The Hotel. Staff and accommodation were all excellent. Only issues were there was no bath (but a great shower), the location is a bit "out of town" if you want to visit Theatres/City centre and finally the restaurant food is average (at best). Still we thought all in all quite a good stay.

Fantastic location and great value We had a super stay at the Rafayel, the staff were incredibly obliging and very polite. The decor is modern but individual and boutique. The room was well equipped and spotless, with a very comfortable bed! Very relaxing, great views and location too!

New Hotel, already looking tired. Broken shower, awful service, air con controls not working We stayed for one night and had a really bad experience. I stay in a lot of hotels for business and leisure, rarely do I feel the need to write a review, but think this hotel deserves to be highlighted. - The shower at first turned scolding hot, then stopped working. We called reception and they sent someone straight away. He promised to get it fixed and to get back to us within 5 minutes. 30 minutes later we were still sat dripping wet with no information. We then got a call to say it was fixed with no apology. - The air con would not work using the in room controls. This meant it was stuck on all night, making the room freezing cold. It was only the next morning that I discovered you could turn it off using the television; not mentioned anywhere in the room instructions. - The carpets had several rips in them which could've been dangerous. - The lifts look shabby for a brand new hotel. - No room rate reduction was offered for our inconvenience due to us booking through the website. They removed our £20 bar bill which was little recompense for the awful stay.

Just as advertised! We had an excellent deal on a double room and were well impressed by the staff and convenience of this hotel. If you're driving into London from the West, it's a perfect location in many ways: fairly quick to get to and from the M4, plenty of parking at £15 a day, a bus stop right outside (Victoria 20 minutes) and nice bars/eateries easily walking distance along the riverside path. Very comfortable sound-proofed room and great shower! One caution though. Don't go down to the basement car park without your room keycard ! It's not easy getting out again, believe me!

Great views Unusual arrangement and not well serviced by public transport links but great when you get there. A big thank you to the hotel staff for a free upgrade to a 2 bed apartment with amazing views over London and the Thames from the floor to ceiling glass balcony across the whole apartment.

Liked: The hotel is a recent find and this was our second stay as we enjoyed it very much on the first occasion. Please do your best to keep it as it is. Please see next box
Disliked: The staff as before were polite helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and welcoming. However as other guests would have told you the first night was ruined by a loud disco and by the drunken behaviour of the party goers, not what you expect from this sort hotel. We had little or no sleep even after the music had finished. My wife spoke to the duty manager the next morning and he informed us that we were not the only guests disturbed. As I said before you have a great hotel but it is evidently not designed for the loud parties that have ruined other hotels, hence my comment don't spoil a good thing

Disliked: The 24 hour room service left a lot to be desired. After a trip to reception, eventually we was served with a disgusting excuse for a club sandwich. The phone call for room service seemed to be far to much trouble for the staff.

Because of no internet I was not able to get emails, which would had given me information for my business meeting. I was booked for two days which I paid for two days for two room. It was west of time to any Longer so I cut saty short and came back. I was angry that staff did not realise the important of wast of time and money nor manager came to explain the situation

Disliked: Everything about the hotel was absolutely perfect except for the shuttle service. While I appreciate they have it, it was not as convenient as other hotels I have stayed as it had only 4 seats, was often booked more than an hour ahead of time, and it even forgot to pick us up one time.

Liked: The professionalism of all the staff. The customer service was second to none! It was clean, quiet, spacious and luxurious. Exceptionally good value for money.
Disliked: Only one minor complaint: the lighting in the suite was not too user friendly. It was too dark. A very minor point, given all the positives.

Liked: some of the staff were really good and the food in the restaurant was amazing but I got food poisoning! Although the manager apologised, we encountered to many problems during our stay to even care.
Disliked: The rooms are tired looking and this hotel is not a spa. The treatment we had was amazing but there is no pool, it's a giant bath. The food in banyan was tasty but I was very ill for two days of my stay which ruined my hubbys birthday

Disliked: I didn't like the lighting in the room at all. It was far too dark (even with all the lights on! ). For women having to get ready and do their makeup for example, it was a nightmare, couln'd see a thing!. There was no point in using the bathroom lighting, because we had had showers and it was too hot in there. Infact when all eight of us got together that evening, it was one of the first things we all commented on. Also, the stair well leading to our room was far too dark.

Liked: I always stay here when I am in London. The staff look after me very well and the rooms are lovely. This time I got upgraded to an apartment. The food is excellent and you can look out onto the river.

Liked: A very smart hotel with its own parking which is a bonus in London. The rooms are very high tech and finished with excellent quality materials. Lovely view from our room over the Thames.
Disliked: As in many hotels, the lighting (whilst lots of them) was fairly dull and tinged with yellow, including in the bathroom, which makes putting make up on very difficult! From a womans point of view, having something close to natural light is a real bonus.

Liked: Hotel looks very good. I like it :) Staff friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel is near heliport. A lot of noise. The shower was leaking.

Liked: Although about twenty minutes outside of centre was good positioning for our few days.
Disliked: Overpriced for what it was. The sink was broken in our room.

Liked: The staff was phenomenal. Every staff member than we came in contact with was superb! The room size was fine. It was right on the bus line. Food was adequate. The price was terrific.
Disliked: There was no privacy in the room as it overlooked the parking lot so you couldn't open the curtains and the lighting was very dim. The location was a bit farther out as well. Also my daughter emailed the hotel several times wanting to send us a bottle of champagne and they never responded to her until after our departure.

Liked: Fantastic location, the rooms where big and well appointed with everything you would need for a city stop over. The staff could not have been more friendly and did all they could to make my stay relaxing and enjoyable.
Disliked: nothing, would stay they again without any hestitation

Liked: The hotel has several great Eco-friendly features, it's very luxurious and beautiful, and incredibly spacious, especially for the price, and the staff was fantastic.
Disliked: Guest did not comment for this item.

Liked: The rooms were well decorated and the hotel was very clean. The girl on the spa reception was very helpful and polite.
Disliked: 90% of the staff couldn't speak good English and the ones that did were not very helpful. The spa area is basically a sauna and hot tub. While we were there the steam-room was broken. There were very little in the way of refreshments around the spa area and the mini bar was to over priced! From the images it gives you on the site it makes it look like a big hotel when in fact it is only the first three floors the rest is apartments above you.
