| Rated 3.8 out of 5: I had read several negative reviews after booking so was unsure what i would face on check-in. I needed a single room near Victoria as a base for two nights when both days would be spent in the city. And that is exactly what I got. Reception service was friendly and for a reasonable price I had a light, bright room with a perfectly adequate single bed, a small desk space and small shower/loo. It was clean and suited my needs exactly. Nearby were pubs, restaurants and a supermarket. The included breakfast was fine. My only criticism would be that WiFi is only available to the second floor and below which meant that I was unable to use my laptop in the room. A small inconvenience however. Rated 3.5 out of 5: This hotel was well placed, my son had to attend St James' Palace to receive his Duke of Edinburgh award so we were within walking distance. The room was very small but clean and the food basic but good. I would recommend this hotel for a short city break and would be happy to return Rated 4 out of 5: This hotel was very good for the price, hence the 4 point overall score. From my perspective it was well located close the the Tube station, if you turn right out of the hotel there are some nice restaurants and a Cafe Nero a few mins walk away. The breakfast arrangements were good. Rated 3 out of 5: First of all the bathroom complaints in many of the reviews are correct... The bathrooms are essentially a pre-fab pod inserted into an already small room. They are like what you would get on an overnight ferry boat. Water pressure was a little low but otherwise it sufficed. The rooms are small, ours had two single beds and one bedside cabinet between. No wardrobe but hanger rails were fitted. Tea/Coffee facilities were provided in the room. It was balmy in July and we needed to keep the window open, the street was moderately noisy (traffic not late night revellers) but bearable. Breakfast was limited in range and the room was busy. However, cereal, toast and coffee was useful to start the day. The location is good, a 15min walk (max) to Victoria. This (as well as price) was a reason for our choice of this hotel. I could find nothing else available in this price range, I resent paying dear for a room in which I will only sleep! We left in the morning and returned at night. We didn't need much in terms of facilities. This worked for me. |
