| Rated 5 out of 5 : Staff was great going the extra mile to provide great service. Location is ideal for those interested in walking- you can see all the major sites of the city within 1 hour. The rooms were very clean the beds comfortable and they were helpful in holding some luggage for 2 weeks prior to our visit at no cost and going out of their way to help us after 2 weeks doing a medical mission. They have a great but expensive high tea and a wonderful chicken Caesar salad in the bar. Overall a wonderful experience. Rated 4 out of 5 : Great location at Hyde park corner, perfect for a tourist trip or a business trip. Managed to do 4 meetings in they day that I was checking out and still left for the airport by 6. Very convenient. The staff is pretty good and very chatty. Had the great time checking in with the Italian receptionist who recommended a holiday destination in Italy. This is one of the things that I really like about the intercon, the staff have a life beyond the hotel and a horizon that is broader. Rated 5 out of 5 : We got an excellent rate including breakfast for a standard double. On arrival we were upgraded to a studio suite which was fabulous. We has bathrobes and slippers and loads of lovely Elemis goodies. The suite was a great size, two flat screen TVs, a separate sitting room. Super king size bed which was very comfortable, excellent linens, pillows etc. the bathroom was lovely with a massive shower head (the size of a dinner plate) and loads of fluffly white towels. Two tiny issues in the bathroom, the bath didn't drain quickly and the shower screen wasn't long enough to protect the floor from the spray from the shower so the floor got wet but there were so many towels it didn't matter. We didn't eat in the hotel but we did have a couple of drinks in the bar. The service was slow but they made me a cocktail which wasn't on the menu and it was perfect. The drinks were expensive (?30 for two bottles of beer and a cocktail) but this is a five star hotel in Mayfair so you have to expect it. The mini bar was ludicrously priced. Breakfast was fabulous, tonnes and tonnes of food, loads of choice, excellent quality. All the staff in the hotel were brilliant, they really can't do enough for you, nothing was too much trouble. The only tiny annoyance was that they took over 20 mins to find our bags after we had left them with the consierge which left us tight on time to catch our train but they have so many bags to look after and so many people coming and going all the time. I would highly recommend a stay here. It really is 'how the other half live'. Rated 3.3 out of 5 : Liked: hotel & doorman were kind enough to store our luggages before checking in (coz we landed london, then liverpool and newcastle before heading back to london). and most wonderful was that the doorman was able to remember us when we got back. (2)after we checked in, luggages were beign delivered to room real quick. Disliked: water supply in shower is weak, it's a difficulty for female with long hairs to wash their hair. with inter-continental, that's not something i expected (2) the sensor system of their mini-bar is stupid, what if i picked item up, looked them through and decided not to consume them... need to check bill, not efficient Overall: nice hotel, nice location, very good hosptiality from front desk and doorman, not included lobby lounge though. |
