The John Howard Hotel is always our choice, rooms always clean and welcoming, staff friendly and breakfast delicious. Kensington good area for museums gardens shopping. Bus service from any part of London stops at Royal Albert Hall just 5 mins round corner.

We needed somewhere near the Royal Albert Hall and this place is ideal, the price was reasonable and it was pretty clean and although the decor could do with updating it was acceptable, clean bathroom plenty of hot water ... someone had a problem and was ranting at the receptionist (he was trying to get some money off) but her English was limited (are all staff in London non English now)? and he was just getting angrier and angrier 'cause he wasn't getting anywhere ... the breakfast was OK - buffet style, which I don't really want for cooked food ... it all sits there swimming in it's juices but I guess if it was served it would be more than the ?12.50 it cost ... anyway, overall, pretty reasonable .....

Stayed one night here on a very short break in London. Very pleased with the hotel in its cleanliness and quality of brakfast . asked to be upgraded due to having a gold card with best western and we were given a suite. the room was of good size with a decent size bathroom and a bath.
the location is good for the albert hall, natural history museum and victoria and albert museum. its a good walk from the tube station but ok for us as we were travelling light.
almost adjoining hyde park so good for walks in the park. Can walk into centre of town (as we did) and is good if you want to see sites as you do. those who not used to walking would need to use taxis
would definately stay here again when next in London.

review: Lovely accomodations with attentive, courteous staff. Fantastic value. Great location, close to shopping areas and tube stations. Odd policy of leaving room key at reception when exiting building--oh well.
