| A Jurys Inn Croydon guest rated the hotel 4 out of 5 and said: I was here for a week on business, and it is a great hotel, everyone mentions the staff being helpful, but I wish they didn't need to be. Checkin - fine, get to room, no lights - call man arrives within minutes, lights come on. First night no sleep due to very noisy air-con/heat even though it was switched off - moved to another room next day, no problem. Arrived in next room - door key won't open - back downstairs fixed straight away Next morning and every morning waiting staff at breakfast needed to call reception and check if I had paid for breakfast. During breakfast, coffee removed whilst I was away from table, replaced coffee no problem. Cold bacon - replaced with warm no problem. Check-out - asked to pay when credit card details had been provided, they found them quickly. The staff were busy and helpful, but they clearly didn't need to be as busy. Restaurant in evening very good quality food and staff helpful and friendly, but needed to ask twice for several things. Would I go back? Yes I enjoyed it! Rated 4 out of 5 by a guest: lceanliness - Superb! Bar and Resto staff - Awesome! Reception assistance - Great except that staff that couldn't explain why we don't have hot water early morning to shower. Great Value. Just two stops to victoria station. At first I didn't know that its really far from Heathrow airport and no shuttle goes to Croydon but black cabs that cost almost 100 pounds. so we took the underground train and had to make about four transfers to reach the hotel. It was an experience. Everything was going great until we the morning that we needed to check out. Showering is a must for a 10hr trip and we just can't do without it! We ran the shower for 5 mins, then waited till 15, no hot water came out. Mind you the water is extremely cold, ICE COLD! called front desk and ask to check on it. his poor excuse was NO MAINTENANCE AT THIS TIME. YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL HE COMES IN LATER. What the [--]! our flight leaves @ 11:30 am and needed to allot 2 hours for the bus trip and he wanted me to wait until later? Then he said he will call again to find a room that has hot water and will give the key so we can shower..YEP he called alright, only to tell us. he reset the breaker or something and we should wait again...we can't delay any further and suicide the cold shower. Its like taking a shower while snowing! But other than that..Good value and I love the rooms! you love to shop? Huge mall next to it. |
