| Rated 4 out of 5 : Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Very close to local shops and restaurants, 10 mins walk from tube station. Recently refurbished hotel, check in was smooth and quick, lift small and slow but sufficient. Single room was small, but big enough to store bags, work and sleep - even managed to get the ironing board out (just). Bathroom clean and well designed. Nice and quiet overnight, breakfast was good, airy breakfast room, good quality food and polite and efficient staff. Expensive, but that's what you expect in central London - would stay again. Rated 5 out of 5 : I have stayed here a couple of times, once in a single room - which was very small but perfect for one person, most recently a double room in the basement, this room was fantastic, very comfortable and welcoming, The staff are great, the location is fantastic! The nearest tube stop is kensington high street and then if you turn right an follow the road along for around 10 mins and you arrive at the hotel. The area is surrounded by shops and restaurants. I will definately stay here again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 : Lovely hotel, but had to leave at 07:00 to get to work. Hotel refused to serve breakfast or prepare anything for us to take out (we said we would be happy to pay for room service continental breakfast), and still charged us for the privilege of doing nothing. Also despite apparently advising the night porter we would need an early check-out, he struggled to complete the necessary invoicing. As a seasoned traveller I expect far better service for what we were charged as a room rate. Very disappointing. |
