| Rated 3.4 out of 5: Using the hotel as a base for sight seeing and pleasure. There was no breakfast room or bar available. Rated 2.5 out of 5: Pros - Bed clean, comfortable, room spacious, we were given a suite when we thought we were just getting a double room. Nice toiletries. Excellent location. Good TV. Cons - Mini bar was empty, shower cubicle was grubby and needed bleaching, rooms did not match the website pics by any means, had additional glazing windows with fabric screens in-between so you couldn't actually see out. Signs up saying do not open windows. Sofa in sitting room was old and the seating cushion kept sliding off. Tatty old scatter cushion on bed. No hair dryer. Didn't get breakfast the second morning. Rated 3 out of 5: To say it is 4 star does a complete injustice to those hotels that spend money and time on standards to be officially rated as such. However, that is not to say that the place is as bad as being made out on here. Staff were very friendly and we were generously given a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The room was very nice though decor looks as though they may have not put in as much effort as they should have done; slightly shabby carpets, peeling paint and cracked tiles were all present and correct. In terms of location i think you'd be hard pushed to find anything better for the price on offer as it is so close to the Knightsbridge tube station and 2 minutes walk from Harrods. |

| Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: November 2005 review: Lovely quiet hotel, in a great position near tube, shops and restaurants, with excellent, friendly and very helpful staff. Room was well furnished, spacious, comfortable and beautifully maintained (staff noticed a light not working when cleaning and was repaired same day). The lift was a little clunky but at least it worked! Business centre very useful and reasonably priced. I guess one drawback is that it doesn't have a restaurant or some of the facilities of the big hotels but what is most important to me is that it is clean, quiet, comfortable and fabulous value for money. Will definitely use this as my hotel of choice for all future business or leisure trips. |
