| Rated 5 out of 5: We arrived around 1.30 to be greeted by willing staff & found our room ready. The standard double room was modern, clean and quiet, facing an uninspiring view at the back of the hotel. Although situated under the shadow of The Shard Sky-scraper & adjacent to its building site and on the approach to London Bridge Station our room was very quiet. Even the air con was hardly perceptible. A missing face cloth appeared in our modern bathroom quickly when mentioned. The cleaning staff were cheerful, discrete and efficient. Our inclusive full English self-service breakfast was generous with many good choices ( healthy & otherwise). The evening dinner offered surprisingly good value, well presented food and wine. Service was polite & with a genuine smile in relaxing surroundings. This modern hotel is worthy of consideration with good bus links to the London Eye, Globe Theatre, St. Paul's & the Tower of London etc. We would definitely stay here again. Rated 4.4 out of 5: This was a great little boutique hotel located a block from the London Bridge Rail / Underground station. Tower of London, Saint Paul's, Globe Theatre all within walking distance and the river walk is close and lovely. The Concierge staff at the hotel were exceptional. Reception was O.K., but not nearly as service oriented as our Concierge's Ivan and Phillipe. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Overall, the hotel was reasonable. The food was very good but the chaos that is the service in the restaurant is just that chaotic. The hotel restaurant service lacked direction (no one seemed to be in charge to sort out problems), cohesion - tea/coffee and toast were ordered at breakfast. Never once did all of the items requested arrive during the meal. Rated 4.5 out of 5: Nice decor throughout the hotel and in a good location. Ours was a clean and well presented room, and breakfast and room service food was very good. Only problem was the mattress, it was so old you could feel every spring digging into your body which ever way you laid. They provided a quilted mattress cover to go under the sheet which didn't make any difference. A very disappointing nights sleep for both my husband and I. |
