Rated 4 out of 5:
County Hall is an excellent Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It is located in a perfect position opposite the Houses of Parliament. It is, however, let down by a mediocre restaurant. Our evening meal was OK at best and the breakfasts were poor. Luke warm food served on cold plates - not what I expected from a 5* Hotel. The rooms were a good size and well fitted out, and this together with the fantastic staff would encourage me to return.

Rated 4 out of 5:
Our room was perfect for us. Very large clean and would have gotten 5/5 if the room hadn't had a slightly off smell. Also, the room was located quite far from the elevators and I had requested to be close to the elevators. The coffee service in the room was just what was needed at 5 AM. We were on a top floor and could see part of the London Eye and there was no noise in the room at all. There was a very large flat screen TV. I will say anyone with a disablity is going to have trouble stepping into the very high tub. I've never seen anything that high before. I wish we could have stayed longer but there was a large convention at the time and some areas were closed due to the convention so we didn't always feel welcome, rather like we were intruding. We were able to walk everywhere and if you are staying there I highly reccomend "London Walk's" tour "Somewhere Else London" that meets at the Embankment Tube nearby and takes you on a tour around the area that you would never find on your own. We were very sad to leave the Marriott and were happy with our stay.

A Marriott County Hall guest gave the hotel 5 out of 5 and said:
We stayed at the County Hall hotel in London in September 2009. We were allocated a room overlooking the London Eye. The room was huge with a separate lounge, bedroom with massive emperor sized bed and beautiful bathroom. The breakfast buffet was also very good, although seemed to be better at weekends rather than during the week. All the staff were extremely courteous and helpful and I couldn't fault this hotel, i think it is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The hotel also has a very good sized swimming pool and gym with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, although these are separate for men and women. The main restaurant serves a very good value evening meal with choice of courses. We had the fillet steak and it was superb. The location of the hotel is also perfect, it is right in the centre of London and within walking distance of the main attractions. Although this hotel is expensive, it is very well worth the price for the service and quality of this lovely hotel.

A satisfied guest rated the hotel 5 out of 5 and wrote:
if i ever need to stay in london again, i will surely stay here. not only did i have the best stay here, but the customer service, front desk, and concierge are the most top-notch people i've ever encountered in a hotel. everyone was so helpful, especially since we weren't the easiest travelers.. we had to check in early, leave our bags, and then had a mishap with a security lock stuck on a bag that i needed to take onto a plane the next morning. the incredibly kind girl at the front desk practically bent over backwards to help out and found someone else in the hotel who could snip a store security lock that had accidentally been left on a purchase i made earlier in the day, no questions asked). our room was gorgeous, with a view of the london eye. lovely bedding, great comforters, and generally excellent above-the-marriott-standard accomodations. the only minuses: it was a little bit of a walk to waterloo station, but that's okay. the walk to our actual room on the 3rd floor was bizarre. since the hotel used to actually be the county hall that housed parliament, the layout obviously wasn't meant to suit weary travelers. our room was located about 500 feet from the elevator. at one point, we were so tired of the walk that we basically gave up on dinner. my lazy self wished there was a people mover, but thoughts like that scare me because i suddenly imagine myself in someone's basement, playing magic and smelling like i haven't showered in a week. great hotel, lovely location, lots of good restaurants nearby, and exceptional customer service. what more can you ask for? i'll definitely be back!
