| Rated 5 out of 5: This is a wonderfully located business hotel adjacent to the Marble Arch tube stop. Very close to Oxford Street and the many wonderful stores there, including Selfridges. The rooms at this hotel are very quiet and the beds are extremely comfortable. Views are not great, but it's a business hotel, so you're not likely to spend lots of time looking out the windows. The common areas are nicely updated. My one complaint is that the TV has a very limited channel selection (10 English speaking channels max). Breakfast in the restaurant is very good--try to oatmeal. The executive lounge is nice and well-placed. They have at least 3 or 4 food services per day in the lounge, and a fully-stocked bar. Rated 5 out of 5: Stayed at the hotel for New Years Eve. A quality hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts are very good but remember to pre-order your fried eggs! Room was very good, spacious, clean and quiet. Only downside was the view of the wall opposite our window. The turndown service was also very good. Note: for the price they should include complimentary wifi. Also, steam room and swimming pool in basement very good. I would highly recommend this hotel for its central location to shops and attractions. Rated 3.9 out of 5: Liked: The location is excellent. It is close enough to the "excitement" of the city, but quiet and a bit removed. The concierge staff was very helpful, as well as friendly and interesting. Except for one day, our room was cleaned promptly and well. We enjoyed the turndown service. The bed was very comfortable. Disliked: One day, we had a housekeeper who did a very subpar job cleaning our room. Rated 5 out of 5: Great position. first class staff, wonderful breakfast, restaurant was a delight in the evening. Go you wont be disappointed. Rated 5 out of 5: Very comfortable and convenient with friendly, good humoured staff. The breakfast was copious and delicious. We found a 'once in a lifetime offer' through Lateromms.com and we were very happy. Amazingly good value for money!!! A Marriott Park Lane guest gave the hotel 5 out of 5 and said: We stayed at this hotel at the end of November. It is located on the edge of Mayfair, opposite Hyde Park (good for Jogging) and right around the corner of Oxford street so it is very good for someone who wants to combine shopping, sport and relaxation. The gym was well equipped and even had some individual TVs with the machines. The pool and steam bath were very good and it made you feel like you were somewhere else - not in the heart of a busy city. My husband noticed that they had some water problems in the men's changing room but it did not spoil it as everything was clean. As in every Marriott the staff was very good, attentive and professional. For example, we had to check in our flight online in order to get good seats so we asked the concierge where we could print our ticket. He offered to check us in at his computer and print our tickets which was very helpful. Unfortunately, our room did not have a really big window. However, the spacious room compensated for it. Believe me some London hotel rooms are terribly small but this room was spacious had a separate shower and bath tub and a flat screen tv. I would definitely stay there again. There is also a little supermarket within 5 minutes from the hotel called Saintsburys which is now open 24 hours. A client of the hotel rated the stay as 5 out of 5: I stayed at the Park Lane for 6 nights on business. The proximity to the Tube was outstanding. The concierge and front desk were always helpful and never overbearing. I stayed in Room 431, which is a standard room. No view, but I couldn't care less. The room was probably 90% the size of a room I would expect in the States. If you travel in Europe, you know that is a pretty good sized room. Everything was clean. For breakfast, ask the conierge to send you to the little shop a block away on North Row. Much cheaper and better for breakfast. Another review is right. Not a lot of great restaurants around there. I did enjoy going to the Marlborough Head pub for standard English fare and some hand-pumped beer. Everyone was very nice to me there. Only cons: daily charge for wireless internet. About 2-3 extra fees tacked on to roomservice (delivery charge, tray pickup charge, etc.) Safe travels! |
