| Rated 4 out of 5 : In spite of mixed reviews, our Aussie group of 22 really enjoyed our 7 nt, Feb Chelsea footy pkge stay. Check in - via Copthorne went smoothly. Rooms - comfortable, without being outstanding. All facilities one expects in mid range hotel. Internet in room expensive, so as others suggested the terminals on the concierge foyer level better value @ UKL3 for 30 mins. Gym - excell facilities, but UKL25 for 24 hrs (ie can use in a/noon & next morn). Restaurant 55 - breakfast staff all charming and willing to help, plated b/fasts cooked individually & served quickly, buffet style set up on busy periods (match day etc). Frankies sports type bar out front - adequate meals/pizzas etc with lots of screens to watch fav sports. Marco Pierre Whites - untried. Vouchers avail from the concierges give discounts off bars/gym etc. Oh yes and the bonus ... Chelsea won. Rated 4 out of 5 : The location of this hotel is perfect if you want to stay in one of the nicest areas of London and you want easy access to the sights of Central London. Fulham and Chelsea offers a wealth of Bars, Restaurants (2 decent ones are on site) and Clubs as well as plenty of Boutique Shops and places unique to the area. The hotel is a 3min walk from Fulham Broadway Tube which connects you to pretty much everywhere you would need to get to in London. We were booked to stay in a standard room at The Copthorne but were upgraded on arrival (without asking) to a higher grade room. The room was immaculately clean, furnished really well and with a flat screen TV. It was on the small side, but the bed was big and comfy and the bathroom was a good size. It was match day at Chelsea, so I was expecting chaos - but you didn't notice it inside the hotel, obviously the streets outside were busy but a 5 min walk away and you are out of it. We had the room as part of a deal and I am told this hotel often does this, this makes it very very good value. I would definitely stay here again for the value, location and quality of the place. Rated 4 out of 5 : Just returned from a 3 night break at the hotel on a room only basis. We checked into the Copthorne, but were upgraded! Our room was in the Millennium hotel on the 5th floor, it was a good size with a nice comfy bed. Nice touch was the free bottle of fizzy mineral water. There was a free safe and a fridge in the room. Good location, the tube station is a 5 minute walk and buses into the centre about a 2 minute walk. We had stayed at the Copthorne last year, and Chelsea high street has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants if you don't want to venture out into the centre each night. All in all, a good place to stay! Rated 4.5 out of 5 : Stayed at Copthorne Chelsea stadium because of its closeness to Earls Court where we went to the miles per hour show, which took up a whole day and was excellent and only one stop away on the tube. The hotel was modern and very clean, beds were soooo comfortable. View from window was excellent on 5th November, could see 5 firework displays. Staff were helpful, holding our bags for us on checkout. Breakfast was continental but adequate. Toured the stadium which was good but over ran so didn't have time to see museum. Top tip get the booklet of vouchers from reception gives you 10% off stadium tour and shop, also discounts in frankies bar. Would definitely stay here again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 : Bread seldom fresh and quality of coffee dreadful. Staff tried hard however. Housekeeping staff made our bed 'properly' (as opposed to just pulling up the Duvet) every second day despite our request to do otherwise. The room itself was terrific and the bed could not be faulted for comfort. |
