| Rated 4 out of 5: Mayfair is not the most expensive property on the monopoly board for nothing. The location of the Millenium Hotel is excellent. The hotel interior and service reflects the area. We went for a superior double and were not disappointed. Not huge but big enough. What was huge was the bed. You get all the extras like bathrobes and mini bar. Oxford Street and Regent Street are within strolling distance. The closest tube station is only 10 minutes walk also. Entertainment in the hotel was good also. A woman playing the piano whilst singing was a good way to unwind. I would recommend the hotel however would suggest that you shop around for a better price. The walk in price is expensive. Rated 3.9 out of 5: Liked: nice bedding and pillows. put us in larger room at check in this was very nice Disliked: breakfast buffet was way over priced, for the money we paid for basic breakfast of medium to poor quality food we could have had a deluxe brunch at the nicest hotel in Chicago that includes beef carving station, dessert table, chef prepared omelets and eggs to order. I have never paid so much for so little, the kids ate maybe a bowl of cereal, they should have been free. Overall: because of the bad breakfast experience alone we would not stay here again. plus no view from our room and no shelve space in the bathroom Rated 5 out of 5: Stayed overnight for a family wedding in Marylebone. Ideal position in Grosvenor square. We had a large room overlooking the square. Quiet & comfortable -a very good night's sleep. Hotel & staff excellent but our bathroom needed refurbishing. Layout & decor of restaurant were good & the breakfast was of a high standard. Rated 4.5 out of 5: overnight in central london , price to be expected. accommodation suitable though not perfect ( window frame spoilt view ). but ambience lovely. great location for walking out and enjoying london. would probably use again |

Rating out of 10: 8 Date stayed: March 2008 review: I had booked 8 rooms for business use. The rooms were clean and beds very comfy. Only problem was the rooms were very small and bathroom was even smaller and the cost of food and drink was very high (chesse and ham sandwhich was £17!!) Overall great service and if only staying a couple of night would stay again Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: October 2006 review: This was my 4th stay (usually 3-5 nights) at this hotel in the last year. All things considered, I like the hotel just fine. Now, I can't comment on the restaurant dinner service since I always dine at some other local restaurant. The breakfast staff is fine, though, service varies by wait-person: some are fantastic, others are average. I do not interact much with the staff other than laundry pick up and the club lounge and all have provided adequate to above average service. My room has always been clean and, if your budget can afford it, ask for a larger room. The "basic" room is too claustrophobic for me. The gym is adequate for the business traveler, though, they could use an additional treadmill. The location is ideal. Easy walk to the Bond St. tube. (And if you're shopper, this is definitely a place to stay.) Unlike the Ritz which can be stuffy and too controlled, the Millennium is relaxed and less uptight. But, it depends on what you're looking for. Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: May 2006 review: I spent 10 wonderful days at this most excellent hotel. The room was well appointed and immaculate. The service was extraordinary. I can't say enough about it and would recommend it to anyone. Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: April 2006 review: I spent a long weekend at the Millennium and could not have been treated better. My room on the 5th floor was a delight ,spotless, super bed, down duvet and pillows. One meal taken in the hotel was above average and the staff very pleasant and helpful.I will certainly return next time I visit London. Rating out of 10: 10 Date stayed: October 2005 review: I spent a long weekend at the Millennium and could not have been treated better. My room on the 5th floor was a delight ,spotless, super bed, down duvet and pillows. One meal taken in the hotel was above average and the staff very pleasant and helpful.I will certainly return next time I visit London. Rating out of 10: 2 Date stayed: May 2005 review: Our company had a conference at the Millennium Hotel with approximately 25 employees. We had dinner that the hotel in private dining room and were in the piano bar well into the morning. Our experience was exceptionally bad. To begin, our luggage was stored in our private dining room before we could check in. In the dining room several cameras and a pair of sunglasses were stolen. When we realised and complained the next day, the staff didn't seem to particularly care very much, acted annoyed at our complaint, and told us they'd be in touch sometime. Following, there was confusion with about six of the rooms where two sharing employees received one single twin bed. Our room, which was the third attempt at trying to give us a room with two single beds, had a terrible smell of urine in the bathroom. In addition, the walls needed painting, the room aired out and the carpet cleaned or replaced. During dinner, although the food was okay (although nothing to rave about), it took us approximately 45 minutes and 5 conversations with waiting staff to get an additional bottle of white wine. Finally, at about midnight somebody from the event going on next door threw up in one of the public bathrooms downstairs. I walked into the bathroom stall, stepped on the sick, slipping and fell into it (my knee is now black in blue). I had throw up all over me. After attempting to clean it off of me I left the bathroom and ran into one of my colleagues. She told me that about 40 minutes before she had seen the mess made in the bathroom and reported it to the front desk. When we went together to make a complaint, the man said he had been "very busy" and thus could not attend to the matter. The manager didn't seem to take much interest in the matter either. Overall, the stay in what is rated as a five star hotel was a complete letdown. If it wasn't for the positive attitude of the individuals in my company, the weekend would have been ruined. I would absolutely positively not recommend staying in this hotel especially if you are with a large group. Too many poor standards were experienced to make what happened to us to just be a fluke. I guess the ultimate test will be to see if they even respond to my letter of complaint. |
