| Rated 5 out of 5: when i checked in i was tired and really needed nap, i was able to have a nap and then something to eat.. i didn't need to worry about the time, later that evening because of being so central i was able to go out for a walk . i enjoyed the panoramic view in the elevator ..... all in all a trip i would repeat the only complaint that i had was that ITV kept stalling on the tv, i didn't phone about it, i am sure it would have been fixed had i of done so. Rated 5 out of 5: I find the NOVOTEL st Pancras ideal as it is only a short walk from kings cross station, so struggling with cases on the underground is avoided. Have returned 5 times. Very clean & comfortable. Purchased an oyster card& travelled entirely by tube. Spent time shopping in covent garden, oxford & regent st. Lovely walks through st james park& hyde park. Rated 3.5 out of 5: I booked a room at this hotel in central London on the assumption it would be suitable for a family gathering after a trip to the opera. The opera started at 7.00pm and ended very late and we were all starving. The hotel was unable to provide any food whatsoever in the bar (despite advertising 24 room service, so there must have been someone who could rustle up some sandwiches) and the bar itself shut at 11.30pm. This was very disappointing and ruined a family occasion. Not what you would expect from a hotel in Britain's capital city! That night and earlier in the day the bar staff insisted on bringing tea and drinks to the table for you. Fine, except each time it took over 20 minutes to arrive and one time over half an hour. We found the staff rude and unhelpful that night. The hotel is nice for the money (no bath caps, flannels, conditioner or water in the rooms though), clean and bright and the breakfast nice. The bar is expensive. ne other irritant - when i was in the bath listening to the news on the TV an an advert came on for the theatre next door. It interrupted the news with a loud beeping alarm that would not stop until I got out of the bath to cancel it. Once I had switched it off I could hear the beeps from all the other rooms on the floor and beyond. Unforgivable! Rated 4 out of 5: stayed here with my friends for a weekend away, stayed a while ago so knew about it. its 2 minutes walk from either euston or kings cross stations so really handy for trains and the tube. rooms nice and clean and bathroom good, check in staff very polite and helpful. if there is one tip i can give you, ask for a back room, the hotel is on euston road and is a very busy road so your going to get the police, ambulance etc with their sirens going all day and night so try for a back room, bit quieter. |

| Rating out of 10: 4 Date stayed: January 2007 review: Very disappointed by this hotel. I had asked them before booking how much internet access costs and was told it's free but got a different story when I got there - GBP8 per hour or GBP15 per 24 hour; I really had to fight and prove that I was given wrong information (luckily I had the email they sent me at the time); I didn't get any apologies and staff were even quite rude. Apart from that, the room was on Euston Road and that street is so noisy I didn't sleep well at all. For a 4 star hotel I was expecting a much more pleasant stay. Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: March 2006 review: A very pleasant two night stay, the positives were that the staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms pleasant and comfortable, fantastic views from the glassed lift and the 12 O'clock check out made for a more relaxed departure as opposed to the normal rushed 10 o'clock throw out. I would be picky if I listed the few negatives and as they were so minimal I will let you experienc a most pleasant London experience. Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: May 2004 review: Stayed here when the Thistle hotel, Barbican relocated us after their window broke and caused injury. Arrived close to 3am but treated with respect and courtesy - quiet room despite major road, free bottled water, great breakfast, staff call you a taxi. Will stay there again. Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: June 2003 review: I stayed there before it was a Novotel. My room was on the top floor and had impressive views over the City. If you can request a room, request the top floor facing the road. You can't hear the traffic on the road as all the windows are double glazed and you are quite high up. But the view we had, it included, Canary Wharf to the left, the London Eye, St Pauls Cathedral, House of Parliament and others. I would go back to that room again. |
