| Rated 4 out of 5 : I stayed here for one night with my husband and from the moment we checked in the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had lunch in the upper deck bar and the food was second to none. Getting into the city centre only takes about 20 mins via dlr. The breakfast is also amazing with an excellent choice. We will defiantly be coming again! Rated 4 out of 5 : It was my second time there and I really enjoyed it. Very close to City Airport (10 minutes by taxi), this is really a nice hotel. Large modern room and a good restaurant serving a very nice breakfast. Prices are expensive but ok when compared to London center. Friendly staff and good service. The location is perfect as you can get easily to the metro network or get quite fast to downtown by taxi. I recommend the place. Rated 4 out of 5 : Great location just across from Excel - hotel was very clean, modern and rooms were significantly better than a budget hotel. Mini bar drinks prices very pricey. Not much to do around there it's a bit bleak we took a taxi to Greenwich for a night out about £20 each way organised by the hotel. Rated 4.1 out of 5: Liked: I particulary like the set up of the room with the seperate toilet and bathroom and the couch - giving it a semi suite feel. Disliked: It was a shame the wall above the bathroom door hadn't been finished off properly. An extra chair (perhaps a fold up?) if at all possible would have been useful as we ordered room service and the swing out desk made a perfect table. Overall: We had drinks on the terrace and the apple & rhubarb crumble that was truly delicious. We also had room service which was disapointing - we ordered fish and chips and the grilled vegetable wrap. There were a number of bones in the fish and the 'chips' were blocks of soggy fried potatoes, there was more tartar sauce than mushy peas. We expected the grilled vegetable wrap to be warm. It would have been really interesting/useful to have an explanation of what the keyboard did and instructions. The movie selection on the TV didn't seem to work. Express checkout would have been useful as checkout was a little slow. Very good team - polite and helpful whilst remaining professional and friendly. Rated 4.5 out of 5 : We had a great time at this hotel, the staff were very friendly, the lobby was beautiful, modern and elegant, the standard of the room was ok, if a bit basic - very clean at least, but not enough pillows and towels provided for the four of us, so I requested them from reception the night we arrived - unfortunately the cleaners then took away the extra towels (despite hanging them on the rail to recycle them) and pillows the following morning and I had to ask for more, they also failed to restock the tea and coffee...Another small complaint regarding the blanket on the sofa bed, which was surpisingly grotty, just like another reviewer pointed out. Other than that, great breakfast buffet, very friendly and helpful staff, great location and views, very pleased overall. |
