| A Novotel Heathrow guest gave the hotel 5 out of 5: we arrived very early AM after overnight flight from the US. a very kind front desk person worked for 15 minutes to find us a room at 0930 which was hours before the stated check in time. we crashed in the room for four hours then set off to see windsor castle. honestly, without that early check in our day would have been miserable wandering around in a jet lag fugue. kudos to the young lady who went above and beyond to help us. hotel was bright clean and very european. beds had foam mattresses and were very comfortable. bathrooms were trendy. restaurant was expensive but good. in room internet did not work but front desk refunded money. front lobby had two internet computers adn were usually available. bottom line: next time I travel thru heathrow I WILL stay at this hotel. A guest rated the stay as 4 out of 5: Firstly the good points: great value for 2 adults and 2 kids, including breakfast. Hotel has renovated some floors and our smallish second-floor room looked new, as did bathroom. Great duvets on beds and free tea and coffee facilities. Restaurant had very reasonable childrens menu and offered options for adults to just choose half-portions or salads etc. Breakfast buffet was varied. Bright lobby with newspapers, internet and handy games room for kids. Now the bad points: major problems checking in around 9pm after a tiring 13-hour flight. Trainee couldnt find our reservation, but worse came when the duty manager eventually gave us a room already full of clients! Not very clean blanket on sofa bed, but we eventually got that changed to a duvet, which was fine. Charming French manager on the morning shift apologised for the above and said she would take note of issues. This hotel is clearly making big efforts to renovate and offer flexibility, but staffing/housekeeping need to improve. |
