stayed for two nights at the beginning of october. location was unbeatable. got in via victoria and the hotel is literally moments away from south kensington tube stop (piccadilly, district and circle lines), yet a world away on a quiet and beautiful residential road. wished i could live there. right around the corner from a hummingbird bakery and a few minutes from the v&a + knightsbridge/kensington shopping. also within walking distance to sloane square and king's road. regent, carnaby and oxford streets also easy to get to by tube. we went to a concert at the hammersmith apollo, which was also very easy to get to on the piccadilly line. as was heathrow when we left. (again, piccadilly line)
the interior decoration of the entire hotel is top-notch, with whimsical details in every corner. the drawing room (complete with "honesty bar") and library were absolutely fabulous spaces. sadly didn't get a chance to enjoy afternoon tea in the garden, bc we were too busy running around london having fun!
the service was very personalized and thorough. the reception manager checked us in, and his service was impeccable. his courtesy and attention to detail were very much appreciated.
the attention to detail continued in the room, which was ever so stylishly decorated. the really thoughtful little touches provided by the hotel really sets it apart from others. (will say no more, don't want to spoil the surprise!) our superior room (which is the mid-priced one) was on the small end, but what else would you expect at a boutique hotel in the heart of one of the most desirable postcodes in london?? that's not what we were paying for... we got everything we had hoped for in the perfect location, fabulous decor throughout, comfortable bed, lovely service, thoughtful amenities, surroundings right outside the window (the street-facing side had a long balcony) and at the doorstep. this is not a cheap hotel, but it

Very good communication via e-mail up to arrival. The original room we were booked into was without a room safe and the desk clerk gladly changed our room to one with a safe. The rooms are perfectly clean, and adorably decorated. Ours had a little balcony but due to rain and cold we were unable to use it. The desk staff was friendly and accomodating. We did have a spot of difficulty communicating with one girl, who when we asked for a taxi, ordered us a private car. The dinner they set up at Covent Garden's Brasserie Max was perfect. Had Etienne as our server and he was perfect. Steering us away from dishes he didn't think were up to par and recommending the most delicious food. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Already a fan of the Firmdale hotels so I was expecting good things of Number Sixteen and I wasn't disappointed . Like all the other hotels in the group it is absolutely immaculate - the decor is perfectly maintained and the standard of cleanliness is wonderful . It doesn't bother me that there isn't a restaurant and in some ways guarantees more peace . There's a lovely conservatory for tea and a pretty garden for cocktails and so on . I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely return
