| Rated 4 out of 5: We stayed 6 nights in a newly refurbished double room with en-suite. It was clean and very comfortable with shelves to unpack and store luggage. En-suite was roomy with a great shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was good for walking to museums and the Gloucester Rd tube station. This is a convenient tube station with access to 3 lines. Yes, the buffet breakfast ran a bit cold. Cold works for the canned fruit. Enough to choose from to make it work. Rated 5.5 out of 5: I've not stayed at this hotel before, but it was lovely. Reception, corridors, restaurants and the rooms were all beautifully decorated and had a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable as a woman on my own in the hotel. The only thing I would mark the hotel down on was the breakfast, which I did not think was provided to a standard that matched other hotels I have stayed at, or the food provided in the restaurant in the evening which was excellent. Rated 4.6 out of 5: Easy to find the location after coming up from the subway station 3 mins away. staff very helpful when consulting the location Rated 4.4 out of 5: We liked that rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was the top, big choice of continental + English. It was in very good location, 300 metres from Gloucester Road Tube, two tube stops from Victoria station (from where there go buses and trains to Stansted, Gatwick and Luton airports), from 2 to 5 stops to the main London sites. We were very satisfied with our stay. Maybe the only thing is that you can here people walking above you. Rated 4.4 out of 5: We liked that rooms were clean and nice. Maybe the only thing is that you can here people walking above you Rated 4.4 out of 5: Excellent hotel, friendly staff, really comfy bed and pillows, excellent standard bar and restaurant. Ideal location if visiting Royal Albert Hall - only 15 mins easy waling distance. Rated 4 out of 5: We stayed for 9 days. Upon arrival we had a warm & informative greeting from David the Concierge & help with our bags. We arrived early, they took care of our bags & we checked out the area with in a few blocks. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the Tube ( underground rail ) and there also is a Waitrose supermarket. This market was fab & high quality & not expensive, the room had a refrigerator so we purchased some wine there & cold items, the choices were supreme. Within 1 block is many dining options. The hotel is a few blocks walk to the Victoria & Albert museum ( free admission ), Hyde Park ( Kensington in it where Princess Dianna last lived ) & at the border Buckingham palace etc. etc. The hotel had a lovely front desk area. Their bar was comfy & Roberts ( bartender was wonderful & friendly ) They have a bar lounge area as well & many bar food items to choose from for snacks & were delicious. The dining room was extremely comfortable & calm & quiet & decor very pleasing. The food is Thai based & exceptional, the salads fresh & tasty & entrees to die for ( try the striped bass ). The Sales consultant Rita was very warm & friendly, waitress Gintare was so attentive & personable. Baco the bar manager was just the same. The staff was always ready to please & accommodate. The free breakfast buffet was loaded with hot & cold choices of many sorts, you name it & it was there. Our room was very comfortable & also included a maker & supply for teas & coffee, the beds was great & pillows too. If you want to see sights get at the tube station a ' Oyster card ' one price for a week & you can travel all day any where as much as desired. The hotel is about 3/4 done on renovations but did not spoil a thing. For the price of this hotel & what it included it can't be beat. |
| Rating out of 10: 6 Date stayed: October 2004 review: The hotel initially looked quite nice form the outside but the interior of the room we stayed in wasn't great, nor was the "view" which was of an alley way. The most disappointing aspect was the fact that the hotel is advertised as having a well stocked bar for guests use, this was not open at all during our visit and we were most disappointed as any of the surrounding hotels would only serve alcohol to residents, therefore we were unable to but any alcoholic drinks after 11pm on Saturday or Sunday evening. Don't think we will be staying here again |
