| Rated 4 out of 5: For my husband and I the location was all important on this occasion. We liked the "feel" of the hotel and chose it over and above other larger and more modern hotels for this reason. The staff were very welcoming without being OTT and we felt totally comfortable. Our only negative would be the size of the bedroom, very small, particularly the bathroom! Rated 3 out of 5: The hotel is in a superb location - staff are polite, after seeing reviews before arriving I was a little apprehensive, however the hotel is better than its reviews - the only let down is the air conditioning and the mattress could be better, overall a good stay but not a comfortable sleep. Rated 4 out of 5: Don't normally go for hotels in this area but well pleased with it. Made a nice change from the usual modern type. Everyone was helpful and friendly. We chose mainly for price and considered it very good value having searched the net for hours! We will return! Rated 3 out of 5: My partner and I stayed here for the weekend for a pre valentines break. The hotel is in a great location and good value for money. The interior is a little tired, as are the bedrooms. The double room was small and I've slept on floors that have been more comfortable. However, with a little investment, this hotel could be classed as a boutique hotel. The staff were very professional and friendly. |

| Rating out of 10: 3 Date stayed: December 2005 review: Pretty poor. Room very nicely furnished but tiny. On arrival I asked if there were free parking meters nearby as it was a Sunday. They said there no need as I use the NCP which when I went wanted £27 for overnight.I then parked at a free meter about 20 yards from the NCP.........! I had booked it in Hilton Honors points and for the first time ever I was asked for a certificate to stay as opposed to a booking ref. I told them it was emailed to me and could they let me log in to a computer. Yes for £5!!!!!!! So we went to the room at 10pm and tried to order room service from the menu,a quarter of which is available 24 hours. The room service guy who didn't speak English very well said room service had finished and denied all knowledge of the menu saying it served some things 24 hours!!! So I had to get annoyed and get the manager who revealed the chef had gone home ill and they hoped no-one would order room service!!!! So we ordered cold food to help out,one beer, one coke, sandwiches and fruit salad which the manager said we didn't have to pay for. The fruit salad didn't turn up!! Next morning on checkout we had been billed for all the food inc the fruit salad !!! We also didn't need the certificate I paid £5 to go and get. I explained the room service story and he tried to negoiate wuth us paying for the drinks. I won't print what I told him to do!!!! Unfortunately we lost a £275 camera during the stay and we notified them by phone. They promised to fax confirmation I had reported it missing. I'm still waiting................ I rang the sister hotel on Park Lane and the arrogant git on the phone refused to put me through to the Mews as it was separate. He said 'Get a pen and write this down'. I pointed out I was driving on handsfree and couldn't write so without another word he put me through!!!!! Bizarre attitude!!!! |
