| Rated 4 out of 5: I stayed at this hotel with my partner on the 16th November 2010 for 1 night as a surprise trip for my birthday. I don't know what all the negative comments are about. The hotel was very clean and the room was more than adequate in size with a comfortable double bed and large bay window. the bathroom was also spacious and very clean with a decent shower. the corridors to the hotel smelt very fresh which straight away gave the impression of cleanliness. Im very fussy about hotels and this one was absolutely fine. The corridors were slightly dated but who cares about a corridor. The following morning we went down for breakfast. It was about 0915 and it was fairly busy. The wait for a table was only about 5 minutes which gave us enough time to come round after a night out in London! My partner just had toast and juice. I had a full english breakfast which was lovely. It couldnt be faulted. The breakfast was in the style of a help yourself buffet and included bacon, sausage, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, beans and toast. It was tasty and the food was hot. I could not complain and it set me up for the day. The coffee was also good. We heard a couple behind us complaining that they had to serve themselves.....would you do that if you went to America where everything is in the style of a buffett! Overall i was impressed with the stay at the President and would definately book again. The location is superb, only a 1 minute walk to Russel Square tube station but if you didnt fancy the tube it was only about 20 minutes walk to the centre towards Leicester square and other central locations. Euston station is only a 5 - 10 minute walk away. |

Rating out of 10: 8 Date stayed: November 2010 review: I enjoyed my stay at the President apart from breakfast time which was obviously busy, we came down at 8.30am and asked for a table for 4,as my 2 grand-daughters were following us down & we wanted to eat together the lady said just 2 of you? we said no theres 4 of us, she said we are very busy to which we replied there are 4 of us and we want to sit together not with strangers and we did get a 4 table. I don't like hassle of any kind as it ruins the weekend and we were not asking a lot, apart from that it was a lovely weekend and lovely staff thank you Rating out of 10: 8 Date stayed: May 2005 review: stayed here for 5 days hotel is well situated for shops theatres and nightlife first class service from all of the staff day and night bar is excellent for beers and wines the foods not bad either! Rating out of 10: 3 Date stayed: August 2009 review: Stayed here for 3 days. Though well situated for sight seeing, the breakfast service was very, very bad (I want to stress this). I believe the queues in the morning are usual in August weekends, due to an unadequated room capacity to the almost 1000 people that can stay at the hotel. Worth than that was the fact that no one could have milk, coffee, bread, butter, knifes, cups, and so forth, due to the slow rate of replacement. I had continental breakfast, but there I had the poorest breakfast I have ever had - no ham, no cheese, a lousy bread, only two types of jellies, melted butter... the worth I have ever had... And no one was replacing the goods, since the same employ had also to clean the tables... And the tablecloth in my table was the same as the one of the previous customer, with the stains they left on it and all. And their leftovers were simply pushed away to the floor and to the chairs, even when I was looking... And it was I who had to refill the milk, to pick up the plates and so forth. The service room was ok, with only two bath towels per day and with new sheets every day. In sum, after the first breakfast, I started to have daily nightmares, i.e., the next day breakfast...
