| Rated 4.8 out of 5: This is the third consecutive year that we have stayed in this hotel. We have also stayed in the Radisson in central Manchester on several occasions. Radisson offer good quality accommodation with attentive staff. Rated 4 out of 5: The Radisson Edwardian Mercer Street Hotel has just undergone a major overhaul. The results are a hotel that is crisp and modern and has all the room conveniences you could want, including plugs for US electronics and free Internet access. Having lived and stayed off the Old Brompton Road in the past, I didn't know what a treat it can be to be smack in the middle of Seven Dials. I always thought it would be too tourist-y but it's a lovely area with the theatres right there, shopping and restaurants. Liz went to three shows while in London....all within a short walk of the hotel, which is so discretely tucked into Mercer/Carlton Street that even the black cab drivers can be confused about its location (it helps to tell them it used to be the Mountbatten). Although in the heart of London, the rooms are quiet (save the noise of the construction crews which were still refurbishing the hotel in Aug. 2011). But the fruits of the refurbishment are terrific with spa-like bathrooms and all the bells and whistles. Like many new European hotels, lights, etc are accessed by putting your room "key" in the slot at the door. It only takes once to find out that you don't want to remove that key while in the room. It's really difficult to locate it again in the pitch dark! I would definitely stay at the Mercer Street hotel again. Rated 4.4 out of 5: The staff were friendly but professional. The choices at breakfast were good and afternoon tea was delightful, just what we needed to finish our weekend. Rated 4.5 out of 5: The hotel room had wonderful views, was small but comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful especially concierge staff. Food very good. Theatres and opera house very close. River and London Eye and numerous famous landmarks within very easy walking distance. Rated 4.5 out of 5: Reception staff were particularly friendly and efficient. The room, despite being on the first floor and at a very busy road junction, was quiet. An excellent experience which I shall undoubtedly repeat. Rated 3 out of 5: Mine was a short, one-night stay so perhaps not able to give a full and fair opinion but based on that experience I would say:- friendly and efficient reception staff, quite a good room but a bit tatty on close inspection, it was cold, the bed was comfortable but a lack of warm bedding meant it was an uncomfortable night - why no decent warm bedding? There was no heating whatsoever in the bathroom. I believe some minor soft furnishing improvements are being made...it needs it! One of the two lifts did not work. Expensive for what it was. |

| Rating out of 10: 4 Date stayed: November 2006 review: The Hotel looked very pleasant and staff very welcoming. We were looking forward to our stay. However, the Dial restaurant menu was very disappointing. Also, had it not been for the overnight staff relocating us to another room due to extractor fans directly outside the bedroom, the stay would have been a complete waste of time and money. (Staff get 10 out of 10 though for customer service!) Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: September 2005 review: My wife and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Radisson Mountbatten in the centre of Covent Garden (the perfect location for all the major central London tourist spots) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. On our arrival we were greeted by very friendly reception staff and given an upgrade, which also included an extension of our check-out time to 1600 on our day of departure. This alone made our stay all the more relaxing, knowing that we could have a full last day and still have time to refresh before returning home in the evening. We found all the staff friendly, professional and always willing to help. The reception area is impressive and our room was of the highest standard. Overall, an excellent hotel that I would reccommend to anyone. |
