| A guest rated the Mercure London Watford Hotel at 4 out of 5 and explained: Stayed here for two nights and it was clean, an quiet. We have young kids and they loved the pool and facilities. Rated 3 out of 5 : We stayed at The Ramada Watford as it was in a convenient position to visit friends and family on a recent trip to London. We had also organised a function at the hotel during our stay. The hotel is in a good position so long as you have a car as it is near motorway junctions, shops [thoroughly recommend London Colney for a great M&S] also Watford Harlequin is a good shopping mall. Our room was upgraded which we were pleased about as we had a bit of extra room for our longer than average stay. The bathroom looked like it had been recently re-done but the room itself could have done with a re-furb. Sadly the room staff did not seem to speak too much English so any requests were hard to get over. We had to ask for our bed linen to be changed after 8 days! Reception staff were excellent and very very helpful. Breakfast was a full English buffet so no complaints there, plenty of everything. Weekends got a but busy with many coach loads and I felt they could have accommodated those visitors in one of the function rooms or perhaps even the bar area which was empty. Speaking of the bar - we found it a bit lacking food-wise. A decent coffee machine would have been most welcome and in these days of great cafe's, I would have expected nothing less. I really appreciated having the pool there and staff in the leisure centre were lovely. Facilities were pretty good though my husband thought the pool could have been a tad warmer. Lots of car parking all round the hotel. Rated 3.7 out of 5 : liked: friendly staff. speedy room service. good, varied buffet breakfast (hot stuff was hot, so no tepid sausages etc) Disliked: check in a bit slow. decor in room tired & even though 'day to day' clean could have done with a good go over round the edges - eg dust round edges of carpet & on less obvious surfaces. Rated 3 out of 5 : My daughter and I had one night at this hotel in order to get to an audition in London early Sunday morning. Unfortunately we were disturbed in the night by an alarm (not fire) and the telephone ringing. No explanation was offered by staff. The facilities were good and location just right. We did not make the most of our day in London because we were both tired. Rated 5 out of 5 : Would stay there again. The staff in the resturant were very helpful, and also provided an alternative with regards to replacing the fried potatoes, with new potatoes with no butter, when I asked them. |

| Rating out of 10: 6 Date stayed: October 2011 review: firstly this hotel is located in no mans land out on its own far from central London. had to pay for taxi and bus at £15 to get to the hotel after looking for hotel for a while realised the name has change and not Ramada "naughty naughty" room was cold and smelt damp, heating came on at around 1 am in the morning when you were sleeping staff was nice management and reception did not have a clue about transport or London we tried to move to central London but they would not move us. would not stay they again there was only one shop MacDonald's next door. you need a car to come here after landing at Watford station very disappointed ruined my birthday spar and gym very dated there was a lot of outsiders coming in and screaming school kids all over and watching you while you change. what a waste of break/money should of stopped at home. the weekend louts came in late in the morning waking up guest at all hours. security was very poor doors were left open all night back and front no security around, well they say you get what you pay for. food plain Toby Carvery is ten times better. had to pay for internet one pound for twenty min and we were guest disgusting. Nice hotel its a shame they cant look after it and put out information and transport for guest to come to the hotel from station that's why the price is so cheap. |
