| Rated 4.4 out of 5: Room was spotless, with bed linen changed on the third day of a four day stay. Safety deposit box in room was very convenient, as was tea making facilities. Room service was efficient and reasonably priced. Concierge was friendly and extremely helpful. We thought the bathroom was a bit small and dated. The shower controls though functional, were very sensitive. Wardrobe was too small for double occupancy. Rated 5 out of 5: Just completed another theatre break in London staying at the Rathbone hotel in Fitzrovia again. Having stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions and never have been disappointed. An excellent hotel in the perfect location in central London but with all amenities on the door step. Good bars and restaurants within easy reach. Not to mention oxford street and theatres on the doorstep. The rooms are well equipped although not large but very suitable for a city break. Very pleased with this hotel and the staff, would recommend to others and will definitely stay here on our next trip to London. Rated 4.5 out of 5: booking was last minute. Hotel is about 10 mins from Tottenham court road tube and not very far from Euston. Room was quiet, clean and spacious with internet access to work. Chair needed to be a bit more comfortable for office type use but apart from that it was good value at the discounted rate and i would stay again. Rated 4 out of 5: On arrival we were automatically upgraded to an executive room. Very efficient check in. We were offered a free daily newspaper. The room was clean, light and airy and well furnished. Plenty of storage space if staying longer and a nice clean bathroom with a nice powerful shower and the usual complimentary toiletries. The bar was a little expensive and did not serve beer only lager. It was £8.50 for a martini and £3.50 at the little pub over the road. Nice little pub, full of locals but nice atmosphere. Bed was really comfortable and had a great night sleep. Our lights did fuse at night just before we went to bed, but we rang down to reception and they were fixed in a couple of minutes. They even rang us back to make sure everything was ok. Breakfast was extra and was £15.95 for continental breakfast and £18.95 for full English. If this is too expensive for you, just around the corner there were lots of cafe's offering breakfast. Breakfast was nice though. Plenty of hot coffee. Pastries, cold meats and cheese. Fresh bread, freshly made croissants and pastries. Fresh fruit, cereal, and lots of toast. We didn't have the English Breakfast but others did and it looked nice. We were full just having the continental breakfast. The staff were very attentive too, and plates were cleared as soon as they were empty. Very quick at topping your coffee up when you needed it. On check out, which was quick and efficient and friendly, they kept our bags in a locked room for us, giving us a ticket. This let us spend the rest of the day in London without having to carrying our bags around. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. About 3-5 mins walk from Goodge St underground (the nearest) and just off the Tottenham court rd. |

| Rating out of 10: 9 Date stayed: June 2005 review: Having been to London twice before, i was rather nervous about booking a hotel. The past hotels I had booked where quite simply awful! however, upon arrival at this hotel ( which was very easy to find!)I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff on arrival were very helpful, offering to help with our bags and just generally very pleasant! The room itself was on the non smoking floor, perfect! and as it was me with my mum, we had a twin room, we were very impressed with the standard of the room, it was very clean, very tidy,a nice size with a decent shower!! breakfast was lovely, we only had continental which comprised of butter croissants, danish pastries, bread rolls, yogurts, fresh fruit and fruit juices, cereal and toast.. sounds the usual but the danish pastries were top class! for the price, this hotel, is a gem hidden! if i go back to london, I will be staying there again no doubt! |
