A guest to the Richmond Hill Hotel guest rated the stay at 4 out of 5:
The free car park outside the hotel is welcomed and overall although a quick stay, was pleasant if not enjoyable. The check in was quick but no information about what the hotel had to offer was given at reception. No newspapers were offered as you would expect with a four star hotel and the welcome from the staff was cold if not non-existent. If you have more luggage than an overnight bag I would advise you to take the stairs as the lift is very small and only enough room for yourself and a bag. I had a single room and it was well decorated with a modern but traditional twist. Room facilities were comprehensive and in keep with the design of the living space. The bathroom was again appropriately designed and decorated and was immacuately clean with an extremely powerful shower. The hot towel rack however did not work. Great t.v although improved aerial reception is needed and there were very few freeview channels available. Overall a good nights sleep in a comfortable and good sized bed. Due to business requirements, I managed to eat in the restaurant with a client and although an unusual layout, did fit in with the theme of the hotel. The waitering service was inconsistent and the fact that no bread rolls were served was dissappointing in a Rosette standard restaurant. The food was as expected and of a high standard although it did not excel. The room service breakfast was dead on time and well presented by a courteous waitress. I got what I had ordered and a vast amount more ranging from a full cooked english, toast, fruit to a continental ham, cheese and pastries. Although it later transpired they tried to charge me for both when I had only ordered the full english. What made this worse was that breakfast was already included in the room bill I had paid on arrival. Overall, the quality of products on offer from this hotel is of a high quality but the quality of service could do with some improvements and a more personal recognition of guests and what they have been offered in terms of deals would be of great benefit to the Richmond team. I would stay there again to experience it for a second time and would happily take the missus for brownie points.

A guest gave the hotel 4 out of 5:
Stayed in this hotel for a week for a business trip. The hotel is nice, traditional and staff are very friendly. However the room i was in was tiny and i wouldn't recommend it for more than a couple of night's stay! Room service was delicious and prompt, and it was very easy to set up the wireless connection for my laptop. The free toiletries were more than adequate, and the shower was very powerful. The gym is small, with what seemed to be quite old and outdated equipment, but again, for a short stay it is adequate. The location is fantastic, with the most beautiful views over richmond from the front of the hotel, and an easy wealk down the hill into the town. Overall a lovely hotel which i would recommend for a weekend stay in richmond
