| A Sanctum Soho guest rated the experience as 4 out of 5: We chose to stay here for 1 night on our honeymoon after a friend recommended it. We had no idea what to expect.... When we arrived we were greeted by the concierge - lovely. We were asked where we wanted to go for dinner and were surprised to hear he should get us in practically anywhere we wanted. Our initial plans of a pub dinner where quickly substituted for Nobu (I know... we didn't go all out but it's nice to know we could have!) We stayed in the Deluxe Junior Suites which was very small for the money but ever so cool. The black bathroom, multiple TVs, oversized bar and comfy bed were very fitting with the rockstar theme. Late check out is also nice as was the cocktails on the roof. It was only partially opened and we were surrounded by press and PR people which added to the whole rocktar experience. The hotel is expensive and flawed at times but their whole positioning is about experiencing the rockstar lifestyle and you definitely get a sense of that staying here. Would I recommend it? If you don't mind spending big and are after something a little bit different, absolutely. But it's not for everyone. Rated 5 out of 5: This place ruled - it's the nicest hotel I've stayed at in ages - people who know London will be impressed when you tell them you stayed here. When we got there it was raining, so someone took our bags and dried them off. The staff is sooo nice and professional (James the concierge is adorable, but you can tell he sends you to places the hotel has a relationship with not the best ones - so come prepared with your restaurant picks). The room has a glitter doorhandle. Now the shower is right in the bathroom, no curtain no separating feature at all - there's a sink, a toilet, and a shower head - so when you are done showering there is water all over the place. But the rest of the hotel is so nice that you honestly don't end up caring - my friend said the shower was amazing (and the water pressure was nice). The bed was huge - but a bit soft, my back actually hurt a little the next day. And I never usually watch tv - but i love British tv - and the digital service on the HD tv is awesome. Right in the middle of Soho - close to good shopping and gay bars (and horrible sceney bars with half dressed slutty British [in freezing Feb] girls and lines to get in). The bar is nice upstairs, but the bartender was 15 - makes you feel guilty for having a drink from him - in a he should be at home not working kind of way. Rated 3 out of 5: Very Small room for the price. Although I was aware it was one of the crash pads it didn't look as spacious as the pictures on the web site. For £205 for one night, was slightly disappointed as the room was small (think we were in room 302?)and the wet room was a pain and drenched the window sills, sink and would have been much better if there was a normal shower in the small bathroom. Also I got charged afterwards on my credit card for two lots of mini bar purchases, which we didn't even have! So had to contact the hotel twice to get refunded! |
