| Rated 4.4 out of 5: Our stay at the hotel was quite a pleasant one. What was crucial for us when we were choosing a hotel was breakfast and location. At Sidney Hotel both are excellent. Although the choice of dishes was not very large (fried eggs, scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, bacon, sausages, cereals, cornflakes, toasts with butter/ jam, juice, tea, coffee), breakfast was delicious and filling. What comes to the cleanliness of the room, there's virtually nothing to complain about. We had a new set of towels every day (even though we didn't use all of them each time) and they even washed the tea cups when we forgot to do that. Besides, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is far from being spacious. There was hardly any room for the bags and suitcase. Rated 4.5 out of 5: Sidney hotel in a great spot to get into London, bus stop just outside takes you into Leicester Sq. Get an oyster card before you travel. Bathroom in hotel a bit small, staff very obliging, breakfast basic but plenty of it. Able to leave bags and collect later. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Great location being within walking distance of Buckingham Palace and the 2 tube stations. The hotel was clean and breakfast was adequate though could have done with a more relaxed atmosphere. Staff were uninformative in relation to breakfast times, check out times, facilities, and attractions and frankly 1 of the reception staff was really rude. I got the impression it was because we are a young couple and felt quite peeved by her behaviour. Overall the price was fine as was the room comfort and the food but one bad (receptionist) apple ruins the whole bunch A guest rated the hotel 4 out of 5: Nice small hotel with great design throughout the hotel. Checking in was excellent, staff friendly enough and everything you need in a hotel. The twin room was spacious enough, however the bathroom was a joke. Just like an aeroplane toilet, functional and clean though with a good shower! The beds weren't very soft therefore I didn't really enjoy my sleep. The breakfast was ok, but the variety was poor. Not much fruit, cheese or ham available. Just basic cereal and fried English food. The metro was 3-5 minutes walk, but in the rain seemed like 30 minutes! Overall it was excellent value for money and highly recommend it for its position! |
