| Rated 4.5 out of 5: Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were extremely courteous and helpful. One of the best nights sleep I've had in a London hotel due to its quiet location. Rated 4.5 out of 5: The "suite" comprised very large double room, sofa, desk and a kitchenette area with small table; also a comfortable ensuite. For London a huge and very comfortable room well appointed with good quality furnishings. Just 10 minutes walk from Euston station and a further 10 minutes walk into the West End. Breakfast was good but expensive. Staff very friendly and helpful. As anywhere in London streets are noisy at night with windows open, the one downside is no air-conditioning. There are no other facilities to speak of.... but if you are planning to eat out and see a Show ....it has all the facilities you need. Nearest Tube Russell Square on Piccadilly line Rated 4 out of 5: I got a great rate on the hotel at 50 pounds a night including breakfast. Would I have been as happy with the hotel at a high rate? I don't know, but for the location, size and cleanliness I was impressed. It was December, so no issues with noise or it being too hot. In fact temperature was perfect despite there being snow on the ground. I stayed 6 nights. The staff was not very service oriented, but I knew exactly what I wanted to do in London so didn't need any help anyways. I did think it was nice that when I checked in (at 2 a.m. after a severely delayed flight) the person on duty did ask if I needed anything from room service, but I declined. It's 10 pounds a day for internet, which is truly insane and I hope they could come up with something better. I just paid the roaming on my Smartphone. There was also no clock in the room, which was really odd. The kitchenette came in handy as I stayed over Christmas and everything truly does shut down in London on Christmas day. Breakfast was fine considering it was included. If I had to pay 17 pounds for it--no way! During my stay they did have us go over to the Clarendon (sister hotel) for breakfast, which was not a problem as it's right next door. Location, Location, Location--The Buckingham is genius. 5 minute walk to Holborn, not that I used the tube that much. 10 minutes to Covent Gardens or Oxford Street, as I was mostly there for shopping this was ideal. I even walked to Trafalgar Square in about 25 minutes. A past guest rated the hotel 4 out of 5 and commented: Stayed for midweek break with wife and 2 children. Excellent family room, 2 double beds plus bed settee which was not required for sleeping. Brilliant location for visiting theatres which we came for. On first day small dining room was full but we were relocated to sister hotel across the street for breakfast and no problems. Bathroom could be a bit more tidy but how particular do you want to be? Definitely recommend |
