A former hotel guest rated the stay as 5 out of 5 and wrote:
Stayed here for one night for our wedding anniversary in October. I really cannot believe what some of the other trip advisor reviewers have written about this lovely boutique hotel. On arrival the staff were very helpful, the first room we were given was on the 4th floor and was of a good size with lovely decor. Unfortunately the Tv had a problem and we were immediatley upgraded to the Miss Ada suite on the 2nd Floor. WOW what a room. Lovely 4 Poster bed with beautiful furnishings. Bathroom was amazing ( please look at photo of the Loo!). Had dinner in the restaurant which was also of a very high standard, obviously all the aloof staff had been sacked as I found no aloofness here! If you are not into "wood ,books and history" and boutique charm go and stay in a travelodge, much more up your street.
Liked: The charm of the hotel, decor and ambiance of the hotel.

review: What a wonderfull place! Like stepping back in time. We spent x-mas here in 07' and it was superb, actually we went back in dec.08 and will spend x-mas at the lovely Gore Hotel this year(09'),too. A nice tradition. It's like balm for the brain, lots of history in the walls, very nice staff and a head concierge(Trevor) who is just outstanding!! Our favourite place in London!
