| Rated 3 out of 5: I needed a hotel close to the airport as I was catching an early flight, and the Thistle was the cheapest I could find at the time. I was a little worried by previous reviews, the hotel is a little tired and worn like others have stated but for what I wanted it was just fine. Also, If you're travelling to Terminal 5 don't pay for the hopper bus, catch the free number 423 bus from stand J just past the car park entrance. Rated 5 out of 5: We stayed overnight going to and returning from holiday via Heathrow. Easy access to and from terminals 5 and 3. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, although on the return journey the room was difficult to find. All the staff were excellent. We would certainly use this hotel again. Rated 3.5 out of 5: Basic but generally clean. Shower didn't work but staff happy to help provide another room when requested. A Thistle Heathrow guest rated the stay at 4 out of 5 saying: Was wanting a hotel close to Heathrow #3 for one night and didn't need hotel pampering. We had a pleasant stay for the night. Friendly, helpful staff, excellent Oak & Avocado Restaurant and lovely Breakfast Room. My only complaint was the bathroom shower controls: water temp could not be adjusted so was between boiling hot and scalding. As well, turning the shower off and on took some strength - my wife could not turn it. I reported this to the main desk when checking out....Room 316. I agree that the Hoppa Buses are a bit expensive at 4 pounds/per person each way but they are efficient and have helpful drivers. Overall we liked our stay and would stay there again. |
