Rated 4.4 out of 5:
The staff is very professional and polite. Romao was one of the receptionists that helped me the most in all my needs. Good bedroom and bathroom.

Being in The City at the weekend, peace and quiet were guaranteed. Luxury end hotel. Complimentary fizzy water, and newspaper left in a rather ornate velvet bag. A cornucopia of complimentary toiletries. Customer service was nice, friendly, without being ingratiating. Room well-equipped, although I found the Rambouts a bit over-elaborate when all I wanted was a quick cup of coffee, and I'm ashamed to say I went out and bought a jar of instant coffee rather than wait 10 minutes each time for hot water to drain through. Doors in the corridor slammed a bit, and some buffering might need to be looked at. Excellent decor with updating that fused sensitively with original Victorian building. I felt very cocooned, and was rather wistful at leaving.

2 night stay in April 2011. After staying at the Glasshouse in Edinburgh (sister hotel) we decided to try Threadneedles in London.
No complaints whatsoever. The hotel and service is reflected by the 5 star rating. The hotel is always very quiet and beautiful. The rooms aren't huge but aren't small (don't forgot which city you're in).
We got a good deal so for us it was good value. if I had of paid full price I may have felt differently but when paying the price we did, no complaints whatsoever. The room was a little warm on a night but the excellent staff would I'm sure of been on hand 24 hours a day should it have bothered me. The room service was expensive and I imagine drinks in the bar may have been too, but this will be normal for regular 5 star hotel guests.
The location may seem 'a bit out of the way' in the financial district but the hotel is a 3 minute walk from Bank tube station which offers both the Central and Northern line so the links are excellent. Additionally it's only about 3 stops from Kings Cross.
The best tip to give: Leave Bank station via EXIT 2 for the quickest way to the hotel straight up Threadneedle Street.

Honesty bar for late night drinks. Good access for public transport and excellent position for the City and East end markets.
