| Rated 3 out of 5: We stayed at this Travelodge 5 years ago and it was fine, so returned recently whilst visiting family who live in Harlow. Travelodges usually offer good value for a cheap and cheerful stop over with a degree of quality. However, this one is looking very tired now and needs some "tender loving care", along with a full refurbishment and upgrading.. Seems that Travelodge are trying to increase their profits by removing the frills. No hair dryer, no shampoo, no shower gel, one small bar of soap, no spare toilet roll, no wine glasses in room, plastic cups in bathroom... oh but they do offer wi-fi but it isn't free! Negatives - old CRT TV and very small. Mattress worn out as we sunk to the middle, needed replacement. Shower went from hot to cold to hot etc. without adjustment. Positives - room was warm (great when it was -3C outside with snow). Room was quiet no road noise or noisy guests. Only one set of towels, reception supplied another set without an issue. Room and bathroom not perfectly clean, but not grotty either. Would we stay there again? Probably not as we like better quality accommodation and services. Travelodge need to update and upgrade their product and offer better value for money. We always thought that the brand was a quality product - don't think it is now. A refurbishment of this Travelodge and few frills would certainly help. Rated 3 out of 5: We stayed for just one night as we had tickets for a concert in town. The staff on duty were welcoming and friendly when we arrived. When we got to our room it was very cold we mentioned this to the staff and they immediately sorted the problem out. The room was clean and large with a working TV, tea and coffee facilities a large sofa and a "WoW" factor heated mirror in the bathroom so it did not steam up. The only down side of our room was you could here the cars passing on the main road outside. The area around the Travelodge was lovely farmland. Next door to the travel lodge is a LIttle Chef |

| Rating out of 10: 1 Date stayed: April 2005 review: What a joke! I booked a room at the hotel on April 23rd to stay for one night on April 27th. When I arrived after 21.00hours I was sent to a room that was dirty. The receptionist advised me that she thought it might be! I was then told that they did not have a room and had to hang around while they tried to relocate me. This was after a full days work, a journey of 3 hours and a flight to catch the next morning. I shall not bother to book this hotel again. |
