Rated 4 out of 5:
We stayed in a Travelodge which was an ideal base coming in by train from king's cross. The room was clean and and staff very helpful. Went to see We Will Rock You which was fantastic. Next day went to Camden great markets and went back that night to see some live bands. Also went to notting hill, and usual west end sights. Had a great time 10 out of 10.

i read the reviews before i booked, so it was with great trepidation that my daughter and i entered room 201 to find that it was............ok. nothing at all like the reviews. the bed linen was clean and the bed comfortable, no springs sticking out! the carpet and curtains were clean. the bathroom was clean with clean towels.
the only problem for me was the queuing fiasco for breakfast. when you did eventually get it, after 30 minutes wait, searching for chairs, waiting for mugs, bowls and plates, waiting for the scrambled eggs and bacon to be replenished, the food was very good with a good choice.
i would definitely stay at this hotel again, it was so close to kings x railway station, i would book room only.

Rated 3.5 out of 5:
Our room at Travelodge, Kings Cross could have been better as only one set of towels were in the bathroom and tiolet roll was not replenished on our second day. The heating took some working out. Breakfast would have been better had it been hot instead of luke warm. We were very fortunate to leave when we did for on our way out the snows came!! We would book again via Superbreak.

Turned the raditor on to full but switched itself off before reaching an acceptable temperature. Went for a walk down by the river after catching the underground but the cold spoiled the rest of the day. Had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant but with the doors opening everytime someone walked by it was difficult to stay warm. Caught the earlier train home because we did not know whether our later one would be cancelled. It turned out to be a good move as it did not run.

I thought the lady at reception was very helpful we were checked in promptly and shown the elevators. The room was clean, didn't smell, was not a dump and had everything you needed. The only gripe about the stay was the quality of the bed which was poor as it sagged badly in the middle. Didn't spoil our trip though and I have to say at all times I felt completely safe. The room was cleaned everyday thoroughly. I didn't use the bar or restaurant because I didn't go to London to sit in the hotel. I don't see the point of writing a review on the service of the staff in the hotel bar when they have a fantastic little pub just over the road.
Overall the hotel was fine, I felt safe and the service I received was of a good standard. Beggars cannot be chosers and if you pay £29 a night to stay 10 mins walk from kings x how can you complain. If you want luxury pay for it. Don't be a cheapskate and stay in a travelodge and moan. Also in for future reference don't spend so much time in the hotel when you have one of the most amazing capitals in the world right on your doorstep

review: As with all Travelodge you get standard facilities.  En Suite bathroom, adequate room decor, good location.  The bed was comfortable and having a king size bed was a bonus (other hotels charge extra).  [promotional section removed] I got my room for £26 and have a course next year - have got a weeks accommodation for £130 - for central london that has to be a bargain
